Really just want a small profile car air vent dock that allows the power plug to remain plugged. I figure I'd have to go with one of the universals that works for multiple phones.

Anyone have any favs?

I'd have to buy online, and it's hard to tell which one would be good without trying different ones.

THANKS!!

I have a Koombus CD slot magnetic mount. It was about $15 plus or minus a couple dollars. It comes with a couple thin steel plates (one has adhesive, the other doesn't). The steel plate can go under the back cover (for phones that have removable backs), under cases or stuck on the back (with adhesive). The mount has a little bit of play in the CD slot. It feels OK, but not rock solid. The part that hold the phone uses rare earth magnets, that seem to have good bit of holding power. I'm using an LG Realm (probably about 5-6 oz) with it to work with my radar detector. The magnets feel like they can hold something heavier, like a 7" tablet, which I may get eventually. I harvested some rare earth magnets from a broken hard drive, and may mod the mount to have more magnetic power.

Logitech +! Comes with 2 pads do you can use with any phone and any case. Magnetic so "mounting" is a breeze.

Kenu Airframe+ Car Mount for Phablets

This one works great for the MotoX 2014 and is really high quality. You can get it on Amazon.

I have pledged, but knowing Kickstarter, it will be a while :(
It is planned to be shipped in June 2015.

I love the iBolt mini pro mount. It comes with a second "Mini Ball" dash mount so you can move the cradle between cars. The mount is very low profile, but easily fits a large phone like the Moto X 2014. Another huge plus is the camera is left unblocked.

I don't recommend vent clips because the hot air can shorten the life of the battery as well as over heat the phone. It also blocks a vent from use. The dash and windshield mounts are definitely much more desirable.
