February (2018) Update Out - Pixel 2/2XL

I switched from the Note 8 to the Pixel XL for the security updates. So far I'm finding that they also introduce more bugs than I would expect with each update. Since the Feb 5 update, my camera has been crashing periodically, and Bluetooth has been disconnecting periodically. Seems like we can't win with this setup. And if anyone thinks it's better on the iOS side, it isn't. Their updated since 10.3 have been as buggy as all get go.

No issues here on Feb update. Camera works (used last night). BT at work all day on headset and BT in truck without issue.

Hopefully it's just an anomaly. I've had to restart my phone twice this morning... No new apps.

Did you get your update via OTA, sideloaded it or did you Opt-In to the Google Play Services Beta Program to get your OTA?

Just asking because if it was via the Google Play Store Beta that could explain your issue. Like it was mentioned before, everything running great after the update here. BTW, I sideloaded it instead of waiting for the OTA update.

I did the beta thing. So yeah, that would explain it. How do I undo that? Opt out of the beta?

Getting the update a day earlier then I guessed :)

So this Android newbie does not want to muck up her Pixel 2 XL that she's only had little over a month. Anyone know when the Google Play Services update will be released for the rest of us? Thanks! Btw, I have read over some of the instructions out there for sideloading. None were completely clear which is why I don't want to tackle it.

That proved to be a complete waste of time. All I received was an update from 11.9.75 to 11.9.76.
Go figure - I rebooted into Safe mode (for an unrelated investigation) and the Feb update showed up right away. Still on 11.9.76.

It's easier that sideloading the ota update.

Just get the APK for the Google Play Services. And then the update button will work. Here's the link for the Pixel 2XL.

Nice I already side loaded but by next month should have the 12.* Google play services version since I'm on Google play services beta track. Hopefully for March the check for update works

How do you get on the Google play services beta track?

Don't know if it's still open but if you go to Google play services on the play store and scroll all the way down you should see an option to enroll into beta. Mine below since I'm already in beta.
It's the same process for any other app on the playstore if you want to enroll into beta.

I don't see a Google play services app in my play store
Hmm yeah searching play store didn't pull up for me as well. But it shows up in my beta tab which contains all the beta apps.

But I searched from Google app with "google play services play store" and it gave me link open in play store. Try that method.
