I got my update today on my unlocked S23U. This is my first unlocked phone and it is totally fine so far. Nice not to have all the bloatware. There are a few little differences but everything is there, VOLTE, WiFi calling, etc..

Do some carriers allow you to download these updates over your mobile data yet? I'm on AT&T with their top-tier 5G unlimited plan that even includes free HBO Max streaming and still in 2023 these updates are still blocked for me downloading over mobile data. I live in a remote area that still doesn't offer broadband internet and these updates aren't anything compared to the bandwidth abuse I use with downloading my entire music library from Youtube music in the highest quality, constant video streaming, and some game downloads of in the neighborhood 5GB plus all other apps can download their updates over data. I can swap sims with another device and hotspot to it and download over data but still, that's inconvenient and it doesn't make sense to still block these updates, especially with all this 5G bandwidth because what's the point in all this bandwidth if you can't utilize it? Can someone tell me carriers that don't block these updates? I want to try a new carrier. In my town people reporting speeds of 500Mbps and more download speeds and I only get 70Mpbs on AT&T.

I thought it was unlocked got big updates first but monthly security was carrier. I don't remember I know I just checked and nothing on January still.

Yea right. I've been using Unlocked since the S20 series and I always get updates last, sometimes a month later than everyone else.

Sometimes the updates on unlocked are last. But I have had my unlocked on T mobile I got update 2 days ago. I still prefer an unlocked anyday over a carrier device. And if I was in a hurry there's always Odin.

I'm on Verizon and can download mobile updates on both my iPhones and Galaxy devices, over mobile data. It used to be over wifi only, but changed quite awhile ago to include over mobile data. Same on the Pixel.

Cool, I'll check out Verizon but... I think they have the worst service in my area. I think it's Tmobile with the highest 5G speeds as I posted above. Can anyone verify if you can download the main phone updates over data with Tmobile?

There are Carrier that can download over mobile data , will pay attention next update I have TMobile and ATT on unlock firmware.

I received the Verizon update but noticed that 2 games were installed as well. I usually use unlocked phones, is this normal?
