Is there anyway to recover files from a dead tablet? The hard drive looks to be still intact, but the rest of the tablet is completely broken. Thanks!

I've never been inside a Nexus but I'm willing to bet that, if the "hard drive" can be unplugged, there is a USB adapter for it. There's only so many standard kinds of plugs for solid state drives. You might also be able to fix up a Raspberry Pi breadboard to recover the files.

Oh wait, the disk is probably encrypted. Perhaps the device still boots? Even if the screen is messed up? Maybe it will still attach as a USB device to a PC. LOL aren't you thankful for all the security baked into this thing? If they wanted you to be able to get your data off a hard drive physically removed from the tablet, there would be a way to do so, I guess.

There isn't a hard drive, there is flash memory on a circuit board. File recovery would most easily be done by installing the board in a working identical model tablet.
