Final Specs

So there's a bit of conflicting information when you run through all this "official specs" stuff. Some say there's 8gb of internal memory leading you to believe it's not an SD card but something new was posted today on Phandroid that seems to say the 8gb is simply a pre-installed SD card. I'm also now seeing specs say that the micro SD card only supports up to 16gb. Anybody know what's up with these two things? 16gb max is kind of sucks to me.

Also, I have an Eris running 2.1 leak with Sense UI. I'm assuming the Incredible will be running something very similar to what I already have, if not, the same exact thing. I'm wondering if the Incredible will be able to run live wallpapers like the Nexus on top of Sense UI. Anybody know anything about this? Right now, I have to disable Sense UI to get live wallpapers. I would love to have Sense and live wallpapers.

Thanks Bazzocco, how do you know those are the final confirmed specs though? I see the SD card up to only 16gb in your list as well. So depressing. :(

I'm sure it will take micro SDHC cards larger than 16GB when they become available. They probably just said that because 32's aren't available yet.

This is going to sound like a silly question, but what size would you make the wallpapers for it? Would it be 480x800?

Thank you in advance.

well i know because im a employee and looking at our equipment guide page for it:D.

So maybe you should check out the PDF on pg 25 that says
"Installing a microSD (8GB preinstalled)"
This is from the laucn package. Which is why there is confusion.
The main pg says one thing but this poorly written. It can be read as a pre installed microSD card or as 8GB of pre installed memory.

So I am sure you can understand the confusion that is going on with people.

I got a demo of the Incredible today. The demo DID NOT have a microSD card installed, yet it displayed 6.2gb available. Obviously there is 8gb onboard, and a microSD slot for additional storage. Sense UI was active AND Live Wallpaper was running. Somewhere in another thread someone questioned the presence of the FM radio.... that's there too. I was also absolutely shocked at the speed and quality of the camera.

This info is OUTSTANDING! I really can't wait. This phone just 1-up'd the EVO with on-board memory alone!

awesome information!

so if the 6.2 that's available space we can install apps to? (ie, not treated the same way an sd card is)

I'm a little surprised HTC and Verizon aren't highlighting the 8GB internal storage in their press release if it actually has that.

I am curious about the video out rumors. Like the 8GB internal storage rumors, you would think it would have been mentioned in the press release. But screen shot of the pre-sale info signup (taken before the site was protected) does show some kind of jack on the left side of the phone under the volume controls.

Anyone who has seen the device know what that is?

I don't know, EVO still has a 4.3" screen and 4G and confirmed HDMI out. They are close, but I still am putting the EVO on top. However, the Droid Incredible has surpassed the N1.

until google implements app installs on an sd card, having the internal storage being so high on this phone is huge (for me) and personally, more of a useful feature than a slightly larger screen, another camera, or hdmi out.

but to each his own :)

I agree. Also, the EVO is not a OLED screen. I hear it's the same screen as the HD2 which is not bad. I have an HD2 also and the screen is GREAT however, it's NOTHING compared to by buddies nexus 1 screen which IS OLED. Night & day side by side. Hey, anyone see this video yet..?

The Evo has the same screen as the HD2. But all those pixels make up (a lot) for not being OLED. :p

Personally, I can't wait to really try Super AMOLED.
