Finally a pic of the front (Pixel 2 XL)

Can't see too much. About as envisioned for me, but with the Search bar at the bottom. In one way that is good - you don't to reach for it one handed it you use it a lot.

Full pic

Oh wow! I really like that.

Blah. I literally said the words, "I don't need a new phone" today... LOOL I am silly.

I'm just commenting that the render is different than the first one published by the same guy. It still shows highlights from the case, the bottom speaker moved and the bezels are approximately twice as thick as they might appear in real life to people who hold the phone in their hand instead of looking at a picture of it, when it becomes available to them.
Let's say you had a hypothetical metric ruler handy. The iPhone X has 4mm wide bezels, Essential is 2.5mm. Where might you think the 2 XL would fall in comparison?

Even if it's in iPhone X territory on the side bezels, this contraption still has my interest. To panda or not to panda, that is the question.

Quit pandering

I mean we know the dimensions of the display and have a front facing picture with the display on scale next to bezels. So I suppose we could blow the picture up to match the display dimensions and then measure the bezels, couldn't we?

Had anyone said pandemic? Anyone going to install Pandora? I wonder if the camera has a good pan mode with it's ois so we can pan da whole scene.

Nice. I'll be going with the black and white model. Glad that the front is black too.

Looking forward to the announcement.

Are people ******* kidding me saying it has big bezels?

Yeah I don't really understand. Are they talking about the Pixel 2? Because that has pretty large bezels - similar to the Pixel last year, but the Pixel 2 XL seems to have small bezels, in alignment with other flagship phones this year.

@modifier my best guess is it's really really close to the iPhone X, or at least closer to that then the Essential PH-1.

If we were going to use this method, I think we would find that the display is somewhere around 136 mm x 68 mm and the device is close to 154 cm x 75 mm. 75 mm - 68 mm = 7 mm, which divided by two means each side bezel would be approximately 3.5 mm.

It also means the average of the top bezels is 9 mm, though they do appear to be slightly different sizes. The top bezel is just shy of 10 mm and the lower bezels is nearly 8.5 mm, so there's about a 25% difference in the height of the upper and lower bezels (upper is about 25% larger than the lower or the lower is about 20% smaller than the upper).

The original pixel XL was 154.7 mm x 75.7 mm, which is why when I've been telling people they feel like they're basically the same size - it's because they're within 1 mm of each other on both height and width. It feels like the same damn phone in many ways, but obviously using the display is a little different.

(The new one is closer to 154.4 and 75.2 based on the calculations from screen area, so we're really within half a millimeter and that can be explained away easily by sucking at the scaling).

To Panda or not to Panda is definitely the question! Bravo sir...as I slow clap.

lol the ~ 3.5 mm side bezels must be a cruel tribute to the 3.5 mm headphone jack that went hasta :D lol Google with the #Jokes

Bezel size looks a lot like the bezel size/shape on the Galaxy S8 Active. (Disclosure: My top two contenders for new phone is the Pixel 2 XL and S8 Active.)

Ughhhhh seeing it more and more makes me want the Panda for myself even more :P.
I'm glad it has a white front. The color of the phone doesn't really matter to me it's always in a case but I'm still thinking it'll be panda for me.
