Finally ONE UI 6.1.1 out now

Only the Exynos models have to have their USB ports plugged into something to get into Android recovery. The Snapdragon models do not.

Those instructions need to be amended to note the differences.
I have a Samsung Unlocked s24 Ultra Snapdragon SM-S928U1 bought directly from Samsung & I can not get into recovery without plugging into a PC or Laptop. My prior device was a Samsung Unlocked s22 Ultra Snapdragon SM-S908U1 bought directly from Samsung. Originally, on that device, I did not need to plug into another device to enter recovery, but after an UI update, things changed. And just for the record, my husband has/had the same two models with the same results. So there's that.

I will amended my instructions accordingly.

All I know is that mine ia a locked AT&T S24+, and even with the One UI update, I can still get into recovery without plugging anything into the USB port.

In fact, just to make sure, I tried it just now sitting at my kitchen table after taking the dogs out for their morning "release". Right into recovery. I usually just hold the two buttons down until the Recovery screen comes up, then I let go. It doesn't take long at all. I decided to go ahead and wipe the cache again while I was at it.

I didn't even know about the "plug something into the USB port" thing until the question was asked on Reddit. Turned out the user had an Exynos model, and another poster had said that it was like that for a while. Then I found all the YouTube videos about it.

I have read that a carrier can implement that feature, but I would think that would be on carrier locked models. Honestly. I don't understand why I have to if it's not standard for all Snapdragons. Maybe my overly protective case is interfering with the button presses.

Same, only with S24U. No need to plug USB port.

I just did a cache partition wipe on my S24 Ultra factory unlocked far away from any computer. It worked fine. I just thought I'd try it and see when I came across this thread because I hadn't done a cache partition wipe in a long time anyway.
