Fingerprint has stopped!

K, so im trying to get into my private mode on my s6 and it wont let me because it says fingerprint has stopped. i have a backup password when the fingerprint reader cant or wont read my finger but the message just pops up and says "unfortunately, fingerprint has stopped". it doesnt even give me a chance to try. i have my private mode set up in my settings to use fingerprint as a way to access it. i cant even go through settings to open my private mode, the same msg pops up..... HELP

Same just started happening to me after the latest update. I have tried wiping cache and doing a reset through the Smart Switch app with no luck.
