Has anyone else noticed that if you have sweaty fingers, the fingerprint reader on Pixel2XL won't work?

Was at a meeting today and it was hot room, suddenly realised that I couldn't unlock the phone with the fingerprint reader. Turns out sweaty hands don't work... wonder what's going to happen in summer as I live in hot climes!

Sounds like you're doomed. I live in a hot climate, too (Arizona). I may have to revert to some extreme measures like wiping my finger on my sweater or something...

That's is the issues with finger print reader in general, not just in Pixel phones.

I notice the same thing if I have lotion on my hands or if I've been gripping things tightly enough to temporarily deform my fingerprint.

I had some moisturizer on my hands today and the scanner didn't work and wouldn't work.

I registered my moisturized finger as a new fingerprint and had no issues since.

Its a very common issue. Well the very first step is wipe your finger and still if it doesn't recognise, just press a little more(gently) so a large part of finger print is covered.

I used to have this issue with my Samsung phone, but I find it flawless on pixel 2 even with sweaty fingers. I was quite shocked that my Pixel 2 fingerprint scanner worked with wrinkled (just coming out of the shower) fingers too! I'm quite impressed...
