I have Asurion "insurance" on my Verizon P6 Pro. Last weekend I dropped the phone and in the lower left corner was an impact crack and a hairline crack on the front glass on the left side. I set up an appointments with an "Asurion certified UBreakiFix place. I just got my P6 Pro back, yay! I go to unlock the phone by entering the pin code, then lock the phone and attempt to unlock it with my fingerprint, uh oh! I cant unlock the phone with my fingerprint. The phone instructs me to go to: g.co/pixel/fingerpringunlock. I go into my settings to get to the portion where you are supposed to register your print and instead it tells me (see attached image) Am I screwed? Or can I fix this?

I agree with the above post. It sounds like something is not correct with the repair, and I would take it to them and show them that it's not right.

Have you considered, and I know this is a radical suggestion, going to the website that it's suggested?

What it will likely give you is the fingerprint sensor reset tool... You have to run this after a display replacement in order to reactivate the fingerprint sensor. However, the unfortunate news as you also have to factory reset the phone.

Do you seriously think I wouldn’t have gone to the suggested website?! It's just the walk through website that tells you how your data is stored and whatnot.

I do remember reading something about a fingerprint sensor reset tool that has to be used on the 6 series after a screen replacement.

So I called Asurion and they told me to go back to the place, turns out they "forgot" to recalibrate the fingerprint sensor/scanner. A different guy was able to get the process set up within 10 minutes. Had I known that's 2hat it was I could have done it myself.

Seems that should be something the website that you were referred to should have covered as well. At least the problem is fixed.

Funny you link that, I found the same article AFTER the FPS was fixed again.
Yeah didn't know such a way exists, I heard iPhone getting screen repair and locking them out by 3rd party repair shops and didn't use genuine Apple parts ran into this issue

I'm getting this same message on my P7P after it was fixed by Asurion. Can I really fix this myself? How complicated would it be?
It's Saturday and Monday is a holiday so I'd have to wait till tuesday to bring it back in there and if i have to Factory Reset I might as well stop setting it up further.
Strange thing is I brought it in under warrenty, my volume rocker button fell out. Apparently they have to replace the whole housing for that. But I think with my phone they replaced the housing, the back glass and the front glass and i don't know why. I had a skin on the back and it's gone and my screen had a very minor scratch thats gone.

I figured it out, was not easy getting the drivers set. As the time stamp shows I was at it for about 1 1/2 hours. How much do those Asurion techs get paid maybe I should apply!

When they replace both front and back glass usually means they had a issue removing them or cracked upon trying to remove them.

If they didn't charge you for a new screen or back glass then my guess is they cracked them when taking them out. I have replaced a few screens (none on newer phones with a glass back) and it's easy to break the glass when peeling it out of the frame; the glue that is used to hold the glass in is pretty strong. I guess they forgot to tell you that you needed to re-calibrate the FPS since they replaced the screen?

That makes sense that they cracked it during the repair.
During the process of resetting the FPS it said I would Not have to Factory Reset, and I Never did. Might be better off doing the Reset, but I didn't think of that until I had it all set up again

Well thanks everyone for the help. I inadvertently told Dbrand customer service my story, while asking about another skin I was going to get to replace the one lost and they gave me a great deal on a new one. Just paid shipping. I think Triple Black Damascus looked a little better but this Black Carbon looks good too.

Looks incredible Z, you know how to put a skin on 👍 If I wasn't worried about protection I'd try a skin myself, I just need that warm, fuzzy feeling of having a full case on 😉
