Fingerprint sensor ultra slow after Android P

While I'm not sure what "ultra slow" means my Pixel 2 hasn't changed.

I am thoroughly enjoying Android P beta.

I am NOT experiencing 1-2 second delay , just a "hesitation" that was not there prior to the beta update.
Nothing that I cannot deal with ,still enjoying android P beta.

The same here. No change, the fingerprint works fine with Android P on my Pixel 2

mine started slowing down before P but has got slower still since. it's not life threatening but annoying, I'd say after a period of 30 mins inactivity, I wait between 1 and 1.5 second to unlock

Pixel 2XL, installed beta DP2 last week and not noticing any change in the fingerprint sensor response time.

I haven't noticed any speed difference. But I have noticed that third party apps that call for FPS access, specifically as an overlay like when LastPass calls for you to authenticate, it doesn't work.

But, it's a beta... APIs are still new, they'll get it ironed out.

It seems to work fine with my previously installed apps like eWallet Password Manager, Discover Card app, T. Rowe Price investment manager app.

Not working on my Cumberland Farms SmartPay app.

My fingerprint scanner seems to work much quicker with the "always on display" turned on. With that feature turned on, the phone wakes up instantly with the scanner, same way it did for me prior to updating to P.

If I turn the "always on display" off, there's a noticeable delay again of a least a second or so before the phone wakes up after scanning the fingerprint.

Anyone else notice this behavior? For people experiencing the delay...do you have the "always on display" turned on or off?

Turned off my AOD to try it and it's still fast.

Wierd, seems to be a common issue though.
Yeah, the inconsistency is irritating cuz it seems like it should be possible to nail down a cause (iff we had nothing but time and everyone involved openly shared info about every app and every setting on their phones). Still, if the biggest problem I run into with a beta build is a mushy fps that works but takes a one-mississippi-two-mississippi count to wake the phone, I'm good.

Yeah I am sure they will find that cause. They will look through the data they get from each device and determine what is causing it.

That delay is often a product of kernel configuration... Getting the phone out of that low power mode correctly. That sort of stuff usually comes in at the end of the cycle once the software is feature complete... It makes no sense to put in all the optimization work when things might change.

SO SLOW.
battery life has definitely improved, some aspects of the user experience quicker, others slower. Guess that's the deal with the beta updates, but really hope they can sort soon (and that it's not just that there's something wrong with my phone...)
