Firmware - Download from somewhere else??

Hi all,
Is there somewhere else to download the latest firmware from? I'm using Kies but it is ridiculously slow as in it takes hours and then hangs. This is probably due to my crap connection and really frustrating.

If I can download it from somewhere else how do I install it?

As far as I know you have to download it from Samsung/Kies software.

Why not go to Settings, About, Software Update ?
Once there you can opt for manual or auto updates
