Anyone here that can do the Google play edition conversion for me ? I dont know how and I refuse to take any chances on bricking my phone. I'm in new york so I would need to ship the phone to you. Thanks.

Are you sure you don't want to do it yourself? If you follow the conversion method to the tee on xda, I'm sure you can do it yourself. And even if you run into problems, both xda and android central have very helpful people.

I mean I wouldn't mind doing it for you if you want to pm me, but I mean, what happens if you want to go back to stock sense. It is a very educational experience once you start the process. It's also hard to turn an HTC into a paper weight. I have "bricked" my HTC Desire HD and my One M7 many times, but I was always able to get it working with the help of the good people here and xda.

I literally know nothing about flashing, rooting and whatever ever else. I have 0 experience, I dont even know the terminology. That is why I would need someone that knows what they are doing. I have had all the Google Nexus phones and love the simplicity of pure android which is why I would like it on the m8. Its verizon branded(newest model) does that matter ?

I can tell you that the majority of people here also knew nothing about it flashing and such but as mentioned above it's a truly beneficial learning process that will help you with this and with future devices probably.

I literally did my first s-off (security unlock), boot loader unlock, install of a custom recovery ROM, and rooted on an M8 ON Verizon to M8 GPE. If you have the time and are willing to you can do it. Sooooo buttery smooth now and-I-kid-you-not that the battery life is ridiculous. Took it off the charger at 8am and it died out completely no more than 15 minutes ago. I was looking through the interwebs on how to change the notification light when I came across this post.

I'm willing go share my experience with you whenever, but I will let you know the process for one of the steps set me back $25. The Verizon variant is a different beast altogether from its GSM sister, hence I had to utilize something called "SunShine" to unlock the boot loader and get s-off, some you-have to do in order to flash a GPE ROM. There may be another way in order not to part with ways with money, but I reckon it was well worth it for me to have pure vanilla android.

If curious, let me know. Again, worth it.

Send me another pm with your email address. I keep replying to your message but it says I have no sent items. Not sure what's going on.

I knew nothing about it at all, and aside from my generic computer/tech skills, I was a novice. But I did it without issue.

Sunshine is an incredible app. I don't know how it works and I don't want to. Just knowing that it does work is good enough for me. It worked much faster than I thought it would, and it worked. I could tell immediately. So if anyone isn't too sure they want to send $25 to some random app for their phone, trust me, I know. I understand. But the app works as advertised.
