This morning I turned on my Tab and found a new firmware update!?!?

I had a 95% charge on my Tab and so I decided to update. However...

Something went wrong. The update failed and I had to reset my Tab. After that, my Wifi was stuck obtaining IP. I managed to fix that problem by setting a static IP.

After that, I couldn't find any firmware updates and now my default Live Wallpapers are gone.

Frustrating morning. :'(

Sorry to hear about the update messing up your tab. I will hold off on the update to see if it is corrected.

THX

I would. I'm trying to get a hold of Samsung to see if I can get any information. I'm not holding my breath though.

At this point, I'm curious if anyone else saw an update?

my phone is updating right now (galaxy s). its been at the same screen for a few minutes...i hope it doesnt freeze up and screw my phone up.

Same thing happened to my girlfirend's tab

That stinks. Wish I knew about that before. :-\

After several hours in both chat session and on the phone with a Tier 2 specialist and...

Nothing. No clue as to what went wrong or how to fix it. At this point, I have to wait until they research the problem. :(

Samsung is killing me. I was able to set her tablet to static so it would connect but I definitely wait and find out what is causing this. Would a factory reset change anything?

I've done several factory resets and it doesn't fix it. I've reset my router too per Samsung's instructions. Nothing.

Chatting with Samsung support now...

Barnett: The issue of the update is currently under observation.
Barnett: Please provide me the following information in order to escalate this issue to our next level team:
Barnett: Tab Build number
Barnett: Router model

I'll let you'all know what's up as soon as I get answers....

Tab firmware just gave me a message that software update failed, says it's running 3.2,

...Samsung Support is escalating the issue...that probably means it's going to be a long afternoon

how did you get it to work with the static ip and i got a hold of samsung and they said they are working on a fix but idk how you fix a wifi only tablet that cant connect to wifi or kies:'(

My chat lasted 2 and half pages in Word at 8.5 point font. Good luck. :(

My Galaxy Tab updated to 3.2 last night, and when I got up this morning it said Update Successful, now running firmware version Android 3.2. Everything seems to be working on mine. No issues as of yet.

I just changed the saved Wi-Fi info from DHCP to Static. Just press and hold on the saved Wi-Fi info and select "Modify network config".

You'll need to set up the static IP on your router. That process varies from router to router, so you will have to look that up online.

making progress...

after 10 minutes tech support guy just came back to find out what color the tab is, they might be getting close to fixing the problem now.

these are the photos i promised my girl friend dropped a bowling ball on my phone last night because she said i was flirting with her best friend and now my tablet isn't working :'(

thank good the nexus is coming out soon i hope

I am stuck with an autistic galaxy tab which doesn't want to get its update and cannot connect to Wifi anymore!
I would be pleased to get a solution... By the way, I can still connect to Kies but it tells me that my firmware is already up-to-date...

Is anyone having success with the update at all? Just curious if these are one offs or if this is a consistent experience.

Count me in as well with a failed update. When I boot, it says update failed. It only reached 53% during the update. Now, WiFi cannot obtain an IP address - when doing so, next to my E3000 router, even when next to it, it shows minimal signal strength while trying to get the IP address. Of course, it never resolves. I noticed that WiFi *AND* airplane mode were enabled at boot.
