Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies and try again.

I am having the same problem using a samsung galaxy s3 sgh -I747 (At&t). My device has never been rooted. I have tried odin v 3..37 and downloaded the correct rom and followed the steps to attempt to reload the android update on my device. My problem started roughly two days ago when i restarted my phone and it wouldn't load beyond the white screen with the spinning at&t globe. I went to an at&t store earlier in the day and they gave me the same advice but noted the phone could be repaired. I really don't want to have to purchase a new device unless i absolutely have to. Any help or advice in assisting with this problem would be greatly appreciated.

I want to say sorry because I totally forgot I made this thread, and I personally don't know much about rooting and etc but the way I was able to get my tablet fixed was by following the instructions above. TO put it in simpler terms, go to sammobile download your devices latest firmware by searching for your devices model number. Then do the same procedure on how you were trying to root your device but this time use the firmware you got from sammobile.

Mine said Firmware upgrade encountered an Issue...Etc..But,The thing I'm scared is Will I be able to go to Download mode because It's stuck on that stupid Phrase..Firmware encountered and Issue..Man,This happened because While I tried to Root using Odin,I accidentally plugged the USB out and shut hit the fan

i am having an issue i am on s4 SGH-M919 and i download my firmwere but every time on odin it says falied and in kies i go to frimwere thingy and i enter in this SGH-M919 and my s / n it says wrong s / n

I've been stuck with this problem for ages now, left the tab in the box for a year and trying again.
Got odin 3.0.7 and the stock rom for my tab, there are 2 so I got both just to try.
odin flashed it ok and says pass but comes up with firmware encountered an issue so tried the other rom and same thing.
Tried odin 3.12 and it says error on write so I'm wondering do I just abandon it and throw it in the bin or is there anything else I can try?

The tablet was never rooted it was only ever the defaults, never tampered with until now.
Is there anything else I can do with this.
