First bootloop, now nothing!!!!!

My essential phone went into a bootloop today - I was in the middle of work and panicked....just started holding buttons hoping something would be a soft reset.... I got to what looked like a safe start screen - at top said safe start in big green letters. Noticed at the bottom it said phone status: locked. Perhaps unfortunately, I didn't do safe start up, but scrolled through options at top until it said "start." then I pressed power button and now, nothing, zilch zero nada. Can't get any response from phone. no light comes on when on charger. Nothing when all buttons are held for twenty seconds of more.

Did phone status: locked mean anything on safe start screen? does my phone think it's been stolen somehow and gone into total safe mode? Anybody know what I can do to get my phone back on line?

Btw - phone is less than month old and I have babied it - no drops or spills.

Sorry to hear about your problem. Have you found a solution yet? I once had an incident where my phone seemed dead. I tried holding the power button for 30 or more seconds and magically, it started working again.
