I have the phone and I have to be honest, yes it is fast but anything is fast compared to a blackberry. Lol. Contrats on a great purchase.

1 major issue, as others have mentioned, poor battery life outta da box. Finding I need 2 charge 2-3 times a day. I'm sure once I start diggin in2 deez forums I'll find a suitable solution. Dis is definitelt a wicked piece o' hardware.

Are new units still having the freezing issues, GPS lock issues, and other problems? Or has most/all of this been ironed out?

Here are some of my thoughts about this phone.


1. The design is very nice. The phone is a joy to use, even with one hand, for texting.


2. It does processes blazingly fast. Scrolling is ultra smooth. Load times for apps are quick.


3. Gaming is very nice on this phone. The Nvidia Tegra 2 processor makes every game real.

Angry Birds Space (the new one) is very smooth and enjoyable (and as frustrating to finish quickly as ever.)

Fruit Ninja fruit slices come to life. Almost realistic. Also, Nvidia has a special version of the game just for the Tegra devices (G2x included) with two-player (on the same phone) capability. It never hangs up while playing it.


4. The camera is surprisingly good on this phone (But more on this later.)



I do have to note a few things about this phone.


1. The Loudspeaker on this phone is a bit on the weak side. In a noisy environment (like my university, the sound of this phone gets drowned out by the noise quite easily.)


2. When the camera lens is dirty (e.g fingerprinting), there is a noticeable degradation of the image quality (detail loss, fade out of colours)


3. Also, it has a (relatively rare) tendency to exhibit difficulty in focusing for Macro shots.

I have to take an image of my watch a few times with this phone when up close. Or move my watch back (in which case the camera will take the Macro shot quite well.)


4. I can *only* eke out 6-8 hours in between charges with my phone. That's with Wi-Fi on the whole time.

I do have to note that my unit is a second hand one some expatriate bought to the Philippines, so the battery has probably degraded over time.


But overall, I am very happy with this phone.
