First impressions thread.

I went shopping today and I was wearing my face mask and it was so nice unlocking my phone with a fingerprint (vs Face ID on my iPhone 11 Pro Max) and I didn't have to put in a PIN at all. I was just happy with something that simple.

I'm annoyed AF, mostly because I cannot use the internet while a call is in progress. That's stone age BS in 2020. The S pen on left side is annoying but I hardly ever use it so not a huge deal. I don't like the screen unlock being a 2 step process.

Using the internet with a call in progress has to do with your carrier, not Samsung.

How’s the transition from Apple to Samsung? I’ve done it before but could never stick with my previous notes. 99% of those that I talk to are iPhones so iMessage is a really big thing for sending pictures and videos at high resolution. I just went into att and messed around with the demo model and liked it but still trying to do some research.

I really like it. I am struggling with the size of it though. It's big. I'm doing fine with messages. Once I turned off imessage it took about 24 hours to get texts from everyone (some were quicker than others). I like the UI and the refresh rate is sick. All other features are nice and I'm trying to use the S Pen. I had the urge to switch back again today but I'm not doing it this time. This is a fantastic phone paired with the Galaxy Watch I got too, even though the Apple Watch is far superior IMO.

What unlock method are you using that is a 2step process? I only use FPS and it works even with the screen off, so for me it's only 1 step.

My 1st impressions got the device today and it's def speedier co pared to the s20ultra.And the camera with auto focus is much sharper as well.

After having this phone for under a week this has got to be the best phone I’ve ever had...S pen such a nice thing to have

I forgot to mention, that my only drawback to them switching everything to the left, is the speaker on the bottom. When I rotate my device to watch in landscape, my right hand ends up covering the bottom speaker. I have tried rotating to the right, and it gets a little uncomfortable trying to hold it with the camera bump on the bottom right. Nothing major, but just something I noticed.

If you are using face unlock, open biometrics and security, open face recognition, uncheck stay on lock screen

Really liking it so far but one odd thing I have noticed is if I send a text message and put my phone down too close to my cheap work speakers, they start to buzz. They have to be a good 3-4 feet away for the buzzing to stop, once it stops I can put the phone on top of the speakers and they won't buzz anymore. Reminds me of earlier times when my speakers would start buzzing and I knew either a text, email or call was about to come in.

I have my first thing I don't like with the n20. It's not the phone itself , it's a Samsung thing. They went extra cheap on this charging cable. I can't get my phone to fast charge at all. If I switch out the new cable for my old cable that went with my n10 everything works fine. I also have to force the new cable into the phone . Did anyone else notice how sucky the cable is ?

Sidenote: yes fast charging is on in the settings.lol

Haven't noticed the difference in the charging cable.

My wife lost all kinds of stuff.
She tried and tried to get her phone set back up like she had it.
She fought with me for days.
She lost all my hospital data for 35 months.
Finally I got her to give me the phone.
I was about to take it away from her.
Let her go get her own phone and pay for it.
I used Samsung to back her data back up to her phone.
Pressed the down arrow and turned notifications off.
So when people think they got something important to text you about.
They can text you and wake you up.
Especially her retired sister and family members.

Wow good old days

Think about how long the battery lasted.

And how long it took to do a update.
Not to mention limited storage.
I still got a iphone 5S in the drawer.
She don't have internet.
She is in her upper 70's.

One of my sister in laws was still using her IPhone 5S.
I had to-do a update for her.
I pulled a S8+ out of the drawer that I was gonna sell.
Set it up for her..bluetoothed it to her sonata.
She has to be the happiest person in the world.
She can see the screen.
It has a SD card.
It has everything she could ask for.
I'm on her good side now for sure.

First Time Note Owner

I came from Blackberry over to Android starting with a Samsung Galaxy s5 & stayed with the 'S' Series. I always wanted a Note & finally the time felt right.

Wow, no wonder you folks love the Note line. It truly is special.

I love the S-Pen encased right into the device. I hardly ever use the pens on my Tab or Surface Pro because they are never anywhere near the device. They are in their own little protective pen cases stored in a drawer.

The device is a little large, but I'm sure I'll get accustomed to it. (Fingers crossed)

The biggest problem with my s9+ was the call quality. I can finally have a phone conversation now without saying, 'Can You Here Me Now'. (My husband is really happy about this.)

Originally, images on the display look washed out or faded. I had tested the Demo unit at Best Buy after preordering from Samsung, so I was shocked how poorly my screen appeared after arrival. I had been using the same wallpaper on my s9+ and Note 20 Ultra to compare to each other. The wallpapers had been cropped with the appropriate screen size for each device from the original 6000x4000 wallpaper. Within 3 days the Ultra screen 'caught up' to the rich colors on the s9+. Makes no sense, I didn't change any settings.

Fingerprint biometrics are great.

Happy with the Camera Pics so far, although I keep getting a temperature warning when I take several pictures in a row.

N20 Ultra appears to be a keeper for me. Packed up my s9+ for trade-in tonight & taking it to FedEx tomorrow.
