So, two sites - RootzWiki and AndroidPolice just posted a total of four supposed screenshots of ICS. Here they are:

Exclusive Leak: First Android Ice Cream Sandwich Screenshots, Plus More ICS Details
RootzWiki - Ice Cream Sandwich Pics [RootzWiki Exclusive]

What do you think? Frankly, this seems a little shady as it definitely doesn't look as revolutionary as Google was claiming it would be. It's also not running the 3.0 kernel, which ICS was supposed to. Still, the sites are claiming it's legit...

I like it, but at the same time I don't. I thought it would be this huge UI change.

The leaked photos look pretty good. According to the sites the source is reliable...I'm not going to get all worked up by these images until Google Officially releases details or we start to see a flood of leaks from other blogs as well. Even then, things may change up until the official public release of a device running ICS.

Anything is possible at this point and the leaks could end up being true. Also, where was it said that ICS will be running a 3.0 kernal?

Its still in the early stages from what the post says so it may not look like much but it is way more then what we had an hour ago...

I'm not going to pass too much judgement because they are a long ways away from being complete. But the chances I've seen so far are welcomed additions.

I like it, but I'm a little disappointed as I too was expecting a huge ui change. How early can this build be? Isn't ics supposed to launch in or around October? How much more do you expect to change between now and then?

Well from videos and articles I've read ICS is going Joint GB & HC and it will be 1 OS for all devices. That in itself is a huge change. they are also integrating a lot of features, that doesn't mean that the home screen itself has to change but the use of it being more fluid and responsive counts for a lot. I don't how far long ICS is but it showed multiple lock screens, and if you can customize those, I can't wait to see what else you can change.

Sorry if this is a dumb question but where are the on-screen buttons for "Menu", "Home", "Back", and "Search"? I thought this was supposed to be a main feature of ICS?

Was that just a rumor that has now been proven untrue? Are they just disabled in this case because the phone being used already has hardware buttons for those functions? Are they not there yet because it's an early build?

I'm gonna assume there hidden as the device already has them. It would be silly to be 2 sets

Well it could just be a rumor. But no way to tell because the device has buttons already and the software buttons arent needed, thus aren't present. We'll hopefully find out more once the Nexus Prime leaks.

From what we've heard most of ICS is going to be under the hood. This shot may be from an early version as ICS is most likely done.

Im more interested what features are coming with ICS. In HC we got movies, a web store and in app purchases. Im hopping ICS brings tablet optimized newspapers and magazines.

I could care less about the UI. I'd rather have the improvements under the hood and better coding to improve the phone function. I'll take whatever UI we get and use ADW to theme the UI.

To get ics to work on older phones wouldn't they have to have two versions, one for phones with buttons and one for phones and tablets without buttons. Maybe that's what we are seeing with the leaked pics

IMO I think since they want 1 UI for all devices that ICS will somehow detect the buttons and not display the on screen ones. I can't see having both working at the same time. Other than that you will have the option in settings to disable the on screen function. Best thing to do is get a new phone lol and you wouldn't have to worry...

I was very underwhelmed. Android needed a ui refresh, and just changing color to blue isn't it. The native theme engine may help with that though.

Improvements under the hood need to be huge, or I will be disappointed...

From a programming standpoint, it's pretty simple to either show or hide the physical buttons on the OS based on what hardware it's running on. All you have to do is have the buttons bar be a separate entity completely, and get called depending on what phone hardware it's running on.

I wish we could have 1 UI. But then comes the Crap skinning.

It's rumored that Baskin Robins will partner with HTC on a future 32nd flavor... Jk.
