Did you mount system rw before flashing it if you didn't your phone will act like its flashing the rom but nothing will write to the system. Before you choose install zip go into mount and storage and mount the system by the instructions that's what you missed

Appreciate it. Going to give it a try tonight. Now will my downloaded apps still be saved in the market or will I have to get them all over again. And also how will this affect my gallery?

if you have backgroud data selected for your google account then your apps will be remembered in the market. I'd still recommend looking into titanium bauckup, but your apps will be remembered because of froyo.

as for your gallery depending on which version of fission you flash will depend on what gallery is your default. I prefer the AOSP gallery to motorolas because it allows you to sync picasa albums.

I also like the stock gallery its just much better in my opinion. Landscape mode in motarola's gallery is to choppy and slow

It's weird: a week or two ago I flashed Fission onto my Droid 2 then followed up with my gf's a few days later. Her market reverted back to 1.82 and mine stayed at 2.2.7. I just today was able to get the new market back onto her phone (it was working before flashing to Fission), but I'm curious about how to get mine using the AOSP gallery and camera UI instead of the blur style ones that—for some reason—are still running on my D2.
Is there a particular folder on my gf's D2 that I should be able to find the new camera/gallery? If I go copy those .apk files using Astro, should I be able to just paste them onto my phone and install them? What folder should I be able to find them in, which folder should I put them in, and can I install using Astro just like I did reinstalling her newer market?
Thanks for any help you guys can muster!

One other strange behavior is that I haven't been able to use the standard photo widget on my D2 since flashing Fission. This kinda sucks since my gf and I recently got ultrasound photos and I want to keep my son's image on my homescreen for motivation.
Thanks again for ideas about how to fix these bugs!

if you download fission rom manager you'll be able to tweak fission to your liking. to get it you have to donate any amount to Team Defuse. I dont know why the default .apk s are not consistent fron version to version of Fission. but its real easy to skip from blur to AOSP w8ith fission rom manager.

Yeah I'm seeing that now the photo widget wont load onto the desktop oh well guess ill get an app from the market
