Five days with the M9

Still not as good as the M8. But maybe after 5.1 it will be.

No, and please remember that these values are without any video and audio usage. I have the impression that using video causes more battery drain, more than on the M8.
Nevertheless, battery isn't that bad and hopefully HTC will improve it further.

Yes. True. It's funny. Ever since HTC updated their service pack last week and then I installed Sense Home which replaced BlinkFeed and HTC lock screen. My M7 standby and on screen time has improved again. I am back to 4 hours on-screen time. Was at 3.5 hours before the updates. I am getting the feeling Google hasn't optimized the 64 bit chip yet and that might be the issue for all the 64 but phones.

Totally not true. If you have a hot phone and it's close to your body and generating more heat you are go ing to feel it. The heat issue is a problem. I wear a flightsuit and on a hot day just walking to my truck the M8 will get very hot and I can feel the heat of the device coming from inside my chest pocket. So if the M9 can get hotter than the M8, those of you hanging around outside on a hot day better be careful with that phone. Especially if it's in a pants pocket and close to your body.

What kinds of high power computations is your m9 doing in your pocket?

I wear a flame retardant flight suit to work. Flight suits aren't super cool in the heat. If I'm hot, my phone is hot, and it's hot outside the phone will get really hot. I would say about as hot as throwing it on your dashboard. My point is if the M9 gets hotter than the M8 that's a problem. Petvas complained about a hot phone while charging it.

Thanks for your input.

I haven't tested the M9 yet, but the lackluster camera software in Auto mode and disappointing battery life (for a bigger battery) are turn-offs for me, initially.

That said, I haven't played with one yet, so I might be sold if I play with it. My M7 is getting pretty glitchy with its battery so I might think of an upgrade soon, even though it kinda feels like a One M9 mini with Sense 7.

Haven't been through that and I am outside all day living in Florida

The phone is awesome once you tweak the camera settings you will love it

Wonder if the tweaked camera settings works for most people why the hell HTC didn't ship with those settings. Very hard and disturbing to know that HTC with development budget is not able get it right than few xda users and developers who tweak in their free time.

Get one and try it before pretending what it will or will not do.

Just a thought.
