[FIXED] Error Downloading "app name" There is insufficient space on the device

Guyz the easiest way of fixing the issue iz Unistall Google Play Store Updates. To do this go to settings\Apps\Play Store then click on "UNINSTALL UPDATES". That's all you have to do. Start downloading now.....

I have a sony experia but i can't play youtube, my photos, it says not enough space on device so i clear internal storage and reinstall App Cache cleaner and it still say the same error i dont understand. pls help me

Thanks this worked for me on Lollipop!
BUT
It worked for the first app I updated then android complained again about insufficient space. I have 500 MB free.

Welcome to Android Central! Can you give us more details? Have you read through this thread and checked out the possible solutions that have been suggested?

This works for me. All the cache clearing is small beer and allowed only one download before the problem appeared again. Thanks

SD Maid app is the final answer! I gained 1.2GB back!!!

I uninstalled most of my apps after previously formatting my fone( Samsung Galaxy Note 1) about twice, but my memory still kept shrinking, it still kept saying “Insufficent storage memory”. I was almost going to type the *#9900# code to clean it, but I feared if it had side effects. I was on the brink of buying another phone when I settled down to intensively research the problem, I researched it for about 3 days and found a solution to the problem.

Step 1- Download and Install “kingroot” app directly from the website, because it is not in google play. Then open it and Root your phone. You won’t lose any information, it will not format it or do anything at all to your phone, it will just enable your phone to be able to install some sensitive apps
Step 2-Download and install “Root checker” app from google play to confirm that your phone is rooted
Step 3-Open Kingroot app and click “Kingmaster” to install Kingmaster app , this will purify the phone
Step 4- Then finally, download and install “SD Maid” app, then open it and click “System cleaner” to clean your phone with it. It will delete the logcats, gallery thumbnails and some other hidden junk in your phone. When I cleaned my phone with it, I gained 1.2GB back!!!

So that’s all, you can try Step 4 straight up, but it might not work, your phone might need to be rooted. You can also use the *#9900# code but I don’t know its side effect, and don’t know if it would be as effective as SD Maid. Goodluck!!!

Tried everything mentioned in this thread, nothing worked. Error still pops up.

Using a rooted Zenfone 4.5 (A450CG) WW v.5.4.2 - Lollipop 5.0

Anyone else got some other fix ?

Hi there, why do you all accept messing around with a lot of android-hacking! Try to get Android Linux system programmers to solve this
issue with insufficient space on disc/flash or whatever when trying to download an app! Put a press on technicians, we could always turn to Iphone or something (Blackberry...?)

Welcome to Android Central! Are you having the exact same issue as the OP of this thread? You're responding to my post from more than 2 years ago, so unless you're having the exact same issue, please give more details. If the issue if the same as before, then have you read through this entire thread?
