flashed a custom rom and lost root how do i get it back

first of all i did not intentionally flash a rom that didnt have root this was actually meant to be dual boot with the stock touchwizz firmware as this rom wasnt root it wouldnt let me complete the process to make it boot into the primary rom, ive also lost my custom recovery somehow so i cant restore an back up to rid my self of this :( i know one option is to reflash offical firmware via odin

anyway to the point how do i root this rom its a google edition 4.3 rom that has barely been modified so barebones with no root i can link if needed
 
Where did you get the ROM from? Check though that thread or source and see if similar issues have occurred. I'm going to guess that you probably still have root, but the package you intalled didn't have all the parts in it or something with the dual boot is missing.

Go through the source and see if a FAQ is provided and what you should do in this situation. Otherwise, you'll probably need to re-flash the stock Samsung firmware for your device to get you back to stock.
