ok im a dummy. flashed a vibrant mms.apk file without reading. thought it was for fascinate. so i hit a bunch of FC's. My course of action is to just reflash Superclean to replace the mms and anything else back to normal. would this solve my problem? is there an easier way?

Im doing the superclean method also cause i wanna upgrade to voodoo.

Yes, flashing just the ROM by itself should take care of it, but I would also wipe cache and dalvik cache before you flash the ROM. Good luck with voodoo because simple mistakes like that in voodoo can have disastrous effects. That's why I always caution people to gain a lot of experience doing everything they can do in nonvoodoo before switching to voodoo.

and honestly there's not much of a difference between voodoo and nonvoodoo at the moment. I can't wait till they get their hands on the source code though and we get some UV and OC kernels that work with voodoo sound. nom nom nom =)

Yeah, and I know a lot of new rooters have gone to voodoo, probably because they keep hearing that it is soooooo much faster than nonvoodoo. Even experienced voodoo people describe the difference as being slightly "snappier" not necessarily faster. But from what I've read it seems super easy to switch from non voodoo to voodoo, it can be done with no problems if you follow the instructions. The problems happen once you are in voodoo and you flash the wrong thing or something incompatible. That's where you get big problems which are worse and more difficult to fix than on nonvoodoo. That's why I recommend new rooters spend a good deal of time on nonvoodoo to gain experience especially experience fixing errors.

over kill.

just delete the mms.apk from system/app and drop the correct mms.apk in its place. done.

voodoo is cool. make sure you read and obey the rules.

I lovee pie.

Now here's another question. The reason I flashed the Vibrant-mms.apk was because i was trying to convert the sms-mms.apk on the Superclean2.9 to keep the dark theme, but have the original green icon instead of the blue.

Is there currently any apk out there that has this? or anyway i can learn to do this myself?

also i want my sms to have the 960 character limit instead of the 160. Like the add-on thats on the themes, addons, roms sticky.

Anyway i can get all three mods into one? That is: green icon, dark theme, w/ 960 char limit instead of 160.

thanks

If you have launcher pro you can long press on the icon and select change icon then select custom icon. Otherwise use an app called better cut. it will let you choose what the icon looks like.
