OK so here is my question.

I have flashed roms before but I have not use Bootstrap. I have bootstrap download and the Liberty rom downloaded to my PC.

I want to create a stock back up and then flash Liberty. What all will I need? I hear folkes saying I need CW Recovery still and some saying I do not. Any advice on how I can make this happen?

Install RM and open it and give it SU permissions. Then Open Bootstrap, flash bootstrap recovery, then boot into CW recovery via bootstrap only. Then Nandroid backup first and that is your gold ROM free SBF! Then apply update (or select .zip) whichever method you prefer and you should be good with liberty! You will love it, check the toolbox:)

Thanks J. They are making this stuff more and more simple with each device. Sometimes it seems too simple to be true.

Try it on a device without a locked bootloader :D
it's as easy as installing CWM and holding down two buttons during boot...

thankfully we got smart folks that are able to find work arounds for Moto's efforts.

dont forget to factory data reset , clear partition cache , then in advanced, clear delvik cache , and wipe battery stats... this will ensure it gets installed correctly and clean... and the delvik cache and battery stats are supposed to give you optimal battery life... al this can be done in CWM
