Flashing new Rom ...before or after flashing to new carrier

My son gave me an Evo 3d from sprint. I want to flash it to Cricket, aditionally I want to put an ICS Rom on it. Which operation comes first? Flash to Cricket or flash Rom first?

i dont think it really makes a difference but you may want to wait for someone who knows for sure
