Flashing ROM Updates and keeping settings

I am a day into being rooted and am loving Vaelpak 3. Other than the original 2.2 I d started with, its the only rom I have used. Can someone please answer some stations for me?

1 When I want to flash a newer version of Vaelpak, will I lose everything?

2 Same question for if I flash a totally new rom, but I am pretty sure the answer is yes. I can't imagine trying out many roms if I am going to have to re-set up my phone every time....

1. I believe Vaelek is recommending a full wipe before flashing the most recent release, so yes, you will lose everything by doing that.

2. Yes, you should do a full wipe when switching between ROMs. BUT, doing a full wipe doesn't mean you have to lose everything. Titanium Backup (link here about the features) should address your concerns. I am at the point where I flash frequently enough that I can get up and running again very quickly, so I don't use Titanium. I do use AppBrain to back up all my apps, and I like that a lot.

Hope this helps. And don't fear the full wipe! It's totally worth to try out different ROMs and find the one that best suits you.

Some updates do not require a wipe. It all depends.
