Fleksy gifs won't send

Switched from a Note 7 to a S7 Edge today. Just tried to send a gif via Fleksy and it won't work. Never had a problem with my Note 2, Note 5, or Note 7.

I saw someone on reddit mention the same thing. Someone responded and suggested switching to Textra. I'd rather stick with the native messaging app if possible.

Suggestions?
