Flip 4/ Fold 4 now available to pre-order

I suppose the S22 ultra to the Fold4 may seen like a lateral move. They both are big phones with the Fold being twice the size when unfolded. But the S22 to the flip 4 are completely different to me. I've had the sPen since N2 and I don't see myself giving that up. My son, on the other hand, doesn't really use the sPen on his N20 but loves having a small phone that slips easily in his pocket. Given the choice between S22ultra to the new flip, he wanted to wait for the new flip. Me, I won't give up my sPen and the specs on the S22U, especially the camera, is too much for me to make the switch. I think it all boils down to how you really want to use your phone.

Yeah, I was on a fence when switched from N20U to ZF3. So far, I don't miss much on my S-Pen. It is nice to have S-Pen, but I don't use it as often as I should. So my journey begins. However, I do use my SPen my Tab S8 Plus extensively, and I am very familiar with the functionality of the SPen.

I don't need the Fold or spen. I use my tablet for those things and never wish I had them on me.

My phone is used for communication and notifications. Text, email, news, weather, etc. Currently using an S21 FE which is getting very good battery life and takes very good pictures.

I like new things/technology but as of yet can't talk myself into these. I can see how others like them though!

it still feels like too much of a lateral move from the S22 Ultra for me. Seems there are camera and other compromises being made for the sake of a flashy new form factor. I have a $250 promo that can get it down to ~$550 with the trade-in, but still not convinced. convince me otherwise lol

I guess I'm in the minority of people who is actually looking forward to not carrying those big, heavy cameras from my S21 Ultra around with me... Camera downgrade on the Flip is a selling point lol.

For me its going to replace my iPads mini for reading in bed. I usually switch between the 13 pro max and the mini. No more. Also the texts on my phone is alway set to almost Max size, for reading purposes. On a bigger device it’s easier for me to read.

I have a Samsung tablet I use at home for surfing, reading etc. I enjoy the larger screen for those tasks.

Just FYI, Samsung.com USA has updated the number of trade-ins from 2 devices to 1 device for Fold 4.

For Flip 4: before Aug 15, you could trade any Flip 3 storage size in for $900 trade-in credit - now, it's $900 for Flip 3 256 and $700 for Flip 3 128.

I understand tablets are a dying breed (heck, so am I ). Most people are doing what you're doing but I still find them extremely useful. I have the Tab S8 and, for me, it's the perfect size. It's generally on the coffee table but it's easy to travel with also. A light phone inky pocket and a tablet at home are my goto combination.

I'm only doing it because of the trade in and extras that I get from this. Otherwise, I would have pass this year F4 and would be waiting for F5. Life is short, enjoying a little things that make you happy.

I never paid 100.00 for phone and watch always 500 and up , im going enjoy this

Wow can't believe they broke up the price by storage size. Never seen them do that before.

Just looked and the Z flip 3 isn't even on the list of tradable phones for the Z fold 4. That's crazy.

Probably getting overwhelmed by the number of flip3 to be in trade it in and as you know those things are barely worth $400.

Unfortunately I was going to buy another flip3 on eBay and flip it for a flip 4. Oh well I feel fortunately enough to find one for 360 and able to use it as traded for a fold 4

I would think so. If we aren't, we will start seeing cancelled orders from Samsung. They will probably honor what went thru. They probably did this to slow down the orders or trade INS.
