This is just one more thing that I can't figure out why it's not included in ALL modern day phones. I mean... it should be freaking standard.
I think the idea here is the ability to get FM radio if there is no internet connection.

There are millions of people that use FM radio and digital TV on their phones. It's the best way to enjoy some contents without unlimited data or offline subscription. As I said before, these features are incredibly popular in some markets and I can't see them going away so soon.I had it on one phone and never used it. I am happy not to have it on my phone. These days I am not even sure why FM radio still exists.

I remember reading that Verizon disabled the FM radio in most of their phones, even when the international version had it enabled. IIRC the hardware was there, but disabled, and on some occasions devs managed a workaround to enable it.I have had a Moto turbo and Droid max for the last 4 years . No FM Radio. The last Moto phone I had that did have FM radio was 6 years ago .
