Folder Disappeared After Moving it To SD Card

I have a BLU STUDIO C 5+5 LTE and the Android version is 5.1.1
I had a folder of pictures in my Gallery with 74 pictures. I went to File Manager and found the folder. I had it selected and pressed move so I went over to the SD Card directory and pasted it. It had said "Moving..." and it was a success. However, it wasn't there. It was like it had when deleted but I know the delete button is impossible to press in this situation because it's nowhere near the "Paste" button.

I had googled for hours and only found one person with the exact problem I was having but the answer was just someone saying they don't know why that's happening and wish them luck on finding the solution. I have tried Recuva but the files didn't show up so I assume that they aren't considered deleted. I looked in every folder of the SD Card and even the internal storage. I found nothing; not even the pictures in the folder. I have done the "chkdsk" thing to see if my SD card is corrupted and it said that there were no problems. I'm confused on where my folder went and really want my pictures back. I have no backups and the funny thing is is that I was going to put those in my SD card to put in my computer so I could have a backup in case if I ever lost my photos. I guess that didn't work out so well.

Does anyone know how to get the folder back? It's not even in the LOST.DIR. There's nothing in that folder.

Anyways, I have already asked a question here yesterday without registering and got no answers. I attempted to try and google to see if there is any way to recover my photos. Today, I was going to try using Yodot Photo Recovery. However, I ended up accidently pressing "Mount SD Card" when I plugged in my phone to my PC and it completey disabled itself since it already was on "Mount SD Card". I tried to open back the USB computer connection options but it was grayed out. I tried turning on USB debugging options and that still did not work. I googled for about an hour trying different keywords and going to other pages. I was getting more stressed each minute because every website I had found had a question that had an answer that had to do with finding the options menu, using an app that doesn't work on my phone, or it was my exact problem I was having but it wasn't answered. The USB apps do not work on my phone. When I press on "Enable MTP" on any USB app, it attempts to open USB computer connections but then it instantly closes because it's disabled. I even tried rebooting my phone and it still wouldn't enable my computer connections. I don't know why; any piece of technology I own just gets into problems that has never been encountered before or if it has, it hasn't been solved.

Can anyone figure out what I can do to resolve this issue? This has been a stressful two days of attempting to fix this on my own.

Unfortunately you have already tried everything I would suggest! There a VERY small possibility some of your photo's may be in the Google cloud...

But unless you had the phone set to save ALL pictures OR unless you uploaded certain pictures you might not have them all, or any. BUT it's worth checking.

I have no idea about your second issue with the SD card mounting.

For the first issue (finding the missing folder), I was going to suggest an app that I like to use to explore the Android file system. It's called DiskUsage. Here's the link: https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...google.android.diskusage&hl=en&token=yqdAxQ02

It's not your typical file manager (and isn't intended to replace your file manager). It scans the entire file system and presents a graphical representation of the folder structure with the biggest folders and files on top. It's intended to help you find large file/folders so you can see what's using your disk space. But I also really like it for exploring the file system. You can navigate the file system and see the whole thing at once instead of opening one folder at a time (swipe to scroll around, pinch to zoom, tap a folder to zoom into that folder). Android's file system is SO complicated that I find seeing a graphical representation very helpful. It also has a search function in you know a file or folder name.

That being said, this doesn't help if you can't get your SD card mounted. Unfortunately, I don't have much experience with that, so I'm hoping someone else can chime in with a solution.

Sorry for the late reply. Anyways, I tried out the Disk Usage app and couldn't find it in either internal or SD card storage. The mounting issue can be solved by taking the cover out, removing the battery, remove MicroSD card to SD card and plug it in the PC. It doesn't solve the USB computer connections problem but it's an alternative. I'm unsure on what I should do as this point.

Unfortunately, my phone didn't even have that installed! I thought I did. I do put some pictures in Google Photos but not very many. There weren't any from my missing folder though.

Sorry for your loss but always do a copy and paste to move stuff around. Learned that from the PC world. That way if something is not saved where you put it then you still have the originals.
