For real this time too: EC10 kernels

Slowly but surely, that's how I started too. That and I think I read every single post in just about every single thread in the Fascinate forums. So glad I'm past that stage and don't have to...........wait a minute I still read every single post in every single thread in the Fascinate Forums.....SON OF A......:p

LOL.... nice.

One more thing... is a nandroid back-up and dalvic wipe recommended before flashing a kernel? (or is that really just for ROMs and Themes)

So I flashed and my phone turned brite red and melted. Dont mind the tapatalk sig ;)

Only a ROM and theme. The kernel is the basic building block of the ROM, so not a big change like flashing a whole new ROM or theme.

And there is no way to really check that it is installed on your phone under "about phone"... just that CWM ran and said installation complete?

No, the way you know it worked is you see the funky blue lettering flash across the screen a couple of times. That's it.

You got that zoomed in blue text right? Then that is about it.... "About phone" will read the same

It did that.... so I am all set...

running VERY smooth! Can't wait to see how the battery life will be. I was very happy with the life I was getting on EB16... I would switch data off when not using it and was getting 16+ hours and would still have around 30% - 40% left... hoping I get the same!

Wooaaahhh. That was the shortest boot time I have ever seen after flashing something new. My phone is absolutely flying. I thought it got fast when we got 2.9. Web pages are loading in mere seconds. In and out of the market, email, contacts, messaging in an instant.

true that it's not readily apparent, but if a Terminal Emulator is available, su it then type cat /proc/version to see the build date. This one is March 10, 2011.

Not seeing any noticable speed/performance changes here, but ... it seems to work great regardless. I could never get my wifi to work right under any EB16 variant, fired right up and connected with EC10. Color me happy, will check battery life tomorrow (still charging after a long weekend trip with many partial charges here)

check out the birds in Angry Birds. They are flying faster me thinks. Some serious destruction going on now ;)

I'm fairly confident in my abilities now (thanks to a lot of you guys). This from a guy who nearly soiled himself the first time I saw the word "voodoo!" I see quite a few positive results with this kernel so...I think I'll dive in head first!

K. So I'm done working my third job so I'm gonna flash it now LOL.

LEEEEEROY JENKINS!

I mean GUNNEEEEEEEEEEER MIKE!
