For the price, V20 is not worth it.

My monthly bill changed by a few dollars. I love JUMP. upgraded from the V10 to the v20 with only paying taxes.

Which JUMP program do you have? I have the one that lets you JUMP 3x per year without even paying the taxes upfront, they add it to the monthly bill. They don't even require to get insurance like the first JUMP program required.

Within the last year, I went from the V10, to the Blackberry Priv to the Note 5 to the Note 7 (S7 Edge loaner, then Note 7 again) and now the V20. I'm due for my next Jump on November 11, 2016.

I'm always baffled when I see someone complain about a keyboard on today's phones. In the physical QWERTY era? Sure, that was a legit gripe. Now, however, changing the keyboard is about as easy as turning the phone on.

I actually don't even know. Haha. I paid the taxes because I pre-ordered it. I haven't changed my account since the 2/100 unlimited lines.

Generally, I'm quite happy with the V20. I like the dual cameras and the fully manual photo, video and audio settings.

A user-replaceable battery is a must for me, I had my Note 4 for 2 years and during that time, I wore out two batteries because I used it so much. Had the battery not been replaceable, I would have had to essentially throw the phone away after the first year. I had a Note 7 and was concerned about not being able to easily replace the battery, although, as it turns out, that was the least of my Note 7 battery worries.

I don't have a problem with the LCD display, sure the blacks aren't completely black but I think the color is more natural (the AMOLED screens seem to be a bit over-saturated) the V20 display is plenty bright. I didn't like the curved screen on the Note 7 (or the S7 Edge), it distorts photos and videos and it really bugged me.

The built-in speaker is acceptably loud and the quad-DAC sounds amazing driving a variety of high-end ear-buds and headphones. (I'm a professional recording engineer, so this actually matters to me and the difference is not subtle.)

I do miss the notification LED of my Samsung phones but I'm getting used to the second screen, it's more useful than I thought it would be.

The V20 is plenty snappy and I put a 256 gig SD card in it so I have plenty of storage for now. I can make it all day on a charge but I have chargers all over the place, so I can top it off if I need to.

I paid $662 through Verizon and overall I feel that I got decent value for my money.

So the v20 doesn't have the the notification light since it has the second screen right? Are you able to turn the second screen off?

There is a balance to be had here... everyone wants to believe that their choice of phone is the "best". Some get kind of upset when their choice of phone is getting "picked on", and wonder why other people are bashing it...

Well, I am grateful for the "bashers". Please - Bash Away! I want to know what's wrong with them, in *their* opinion, of course. Saves me the time and the frustration of going through the same steps someone else has already gone through, whether or not there was a resolution. For example, I didn't know the FM radio had been disabled by Verizon, as I hadn't had the phone long enough and hadn't thought of testing that yet. I learned that it might not be a bad idea to leave the camera glass sticker on, too... The theme thing I personally didn't care about, but to others, that is a big deal.

As for the good things? I've probably heard most of those from the company's advertising! :-) But occasionally I learn there, too. Like the Google In Apps search. (even though there is no shortcut in the Verizon phone, at least I can still get to it in a somewhat "clunky" way.)

But a forum that only "sings the praises" of each phone is much less worthwhile, IMO. And to tell people, "If you don't like it, buy something else" is much easier said than done, especially this year... and I think the manufacturers need to hear some of the frustrations that people are experiencing.

I know I'm not the only one that is just not "Wow-ed" by anything that has come out this year other than the Note 7, but whether I like it or not, my days with my beloved Super Sexy Silver Sizzler are numbered. This forum, for both good and bad, helped me decide on the v20.

But, to make an even better phone for all of those that already love the v20, LG needs to know that there is kind of an ongoing theme being expressed; i.e. - 1.) for this price, make it waterproof, 2.) want to keep some Sammy business forever? stick a stylus on this thing, b/c a lot of folks are really missing their S-pen experience, 3.) the display could use a little "punch" for people coming from a Sammy, maybe a display mode that more closely correlates to an amoled display, 4.) negotiate harder with Big Red so they don't cripple your "flagship" device by shutting off features, 5.) there better not be any bootloop issues with this thing, etc.

But for the balance? OK, let's not be mean to one another. I'm guilty of that myself.

In closing, "Thanks to all the people who gripe!" We will ALL have better phones for it next year...

Correct and yes it can be turned off. But it's super useful.

Ok thanks so much. I'm probably going to order it tomorrow. I most likely will have the second display always on but was just asking in case it to bright or annoying at night😁

Verizon has the phone priced at $672. You should be more angry at yourself for choosing a provider like T Mobile.

Yes, and no... I'm on Verizon because I don't really have a choice in my area... nothing else really works here, and I'm not going to trust a phone I use for business to a service like Straight Talk, even though in my area it seems to use Verizon towers/services, because of Zero customer service - as experienced by pretty much all of my acquaintances who use it. A lot of people are kind of stuck with a particular carrier for one reason or the other...

Even at 672 w/ Big Red, I'm not feeling the price. I'm doing it because I really don't see a better choice right now, and I know some of the gripes might be addressed, whereas going back to the Note 5, none of the gripes are going to be addressed...

Verizon has the best network in my opinion, but historically, AT&T has had the equipment I want, a good-enough network, and offered me better overall pricing. My bill is high but I pay for my 4 lines/phones, and mother's line/phone.

AT&T gives me a decent discount for my work.

Yep, same here, the V20 is a great phone. I'm tired of all the V20 bashing, if you don't like the phone go get something else and post about your love of that phone in their forum.

Former Note 7 user.

I just don't get it. $830 and it's not even water resistant. It's an LCD screen! The battery doesn't last as long as it IDEALLY should for a phablet. The camera is good, but not great. The keyboard is a nightmare to use.

I've owned Samsungs, HTC's, and nearly every brand in between. I bought this phone after reading and watching reviews, and I remained skeptical. I bought it because I thought it would be something that would grow on me. I went to the Note 7 forum and noticed a lot of former users jumped on the V20 wagon.

I don't get it. What is everyone seeing in this phone that I don't? If this thing were maybe in the $600's, I'd say that's a solid deal. But this thing is being marketed and sold as an $830 device, and it certainly doesn't feel like one to me.

I tried it out and it didn't feel like a premium device. Kinda felt cheap and the UI wasn't to my liking. I just went with the Pixel. I would've loved staying with my Note 7, but the Pixel is just as fast. The Pixel kinda seems to lack in the SOT and charge time departments. As a side note, what really turned me off were the reports of the camera shattering.

Thought I'd chime in with my 2 cents.

I'm a former Note 7 owner, who is currently using a Motorola Moto Z. I still find paying over $800 for a cell phone to be a bit silly but remember the term "Buy what you want" that I keep thrown around?

Holds true here. The V20 might not be cheap (especially for AT&T), but if you find value in its features (strong amplifier and DAC combo, surprisingly good microphones for voice recording, a bevy of controls for both photos and videos, etc.), then perhaps it might be worth it to you.

Different people perceive value differently because they're all subject to preferences.

T-Mobile is the fastest in the area I live which is funny. They do very well in San Diego.

you bash LG, when its your service provider you should be bashing for charging more than other carriers.

People get deep into their feelings when's someone talks about not liking the phone they like, I like Samsung even with the lag they are known for, and I like a lot of features TouchWiz has even though most say it's a bloated ui, but I don't get all hurt because some people dislike Samsung, it's just what I prefer doesn't mean the next person will like it

Well, I came from Note 7 myself

This phone sold me out with Hi-Fi audio on board. As for price tag, $830 is regular price for a flagship with some pro and con. In the end, we just have ..........to.........

Thank you for the awesome laugh X1tymez!

I always feel like this when i see people purchasing $700+ devices.
A $399 device will more than satisfy most peoples needs :D

For the price, V20 is a bargain compared to my Note Edge on AT&T that I paid $945 for.
