For the price, V20 is not worth it.

A device that you can:
*Use to access the internet
*Use as a GPS mapping device
*Use as a gaming platform
*Use as an audio player
*Use to make voice calls
*Use as productivity platform (create/edit documents)
*Use as a content creation platform
*Use to watch videos & movies
*Use as a camera

...all while it fits is your purse, bag, or pocket...

is not worth $300 to you?

It would seem that we really take these devices for granted.

I meant that no phone is worth $300 bucks. Just like no professional sports player is worth 1 million dollars a year IMHO :)

I disagree about the phone but agree about the sports player. I believe no phone is worth more than $1000.

Actual cost of a smartphone is actually between $200-$300 to produce. T-Mobile is able to offer the $200 trade in offer (which bumps it down to $600) plus the free headphone and tablet (if you sold those things, you might get about $150) which brings the cost down to $450. It's a marketing tactic and it gives them wiggle room to offer "sales" and "deals".

Also, I pre-ordered my LG V20 for $799.99 at B&H (no tax and free shipping), comes with a free tablet valued at $99.99 and also the headphones (might be valued at around $100) so if I sold those two things it would only cost me $600.

I agree it's too much money, but as long as people keep paying, the prices are going to continue to be outrageous. Brands like Huawei, OnePlus, and ZTE offer compelling options for much less money, but I doubt they will ever see the light of day in a carrier store, and that's where the market is driven in the US.

With all due respect, that's only true for you. Because millions of people pay close to 3x $300 for a high end smartphone. Same thing with sports players. Someone is paying them those big $1M+ checks. And it's not because they're just being really nice or like throwing away money.

Or if it's baseball, which a lot of people say is boring.. They are getting paid so much more.. Haha some have 350 million dollar deals.. While bench warmers make 10 million a year.

While I was reading that article, I kept expecting the author to tell me how babby formed.

V20 overpriced? Sure. Found a sweet deal? Awesome. Your carrier is better than mine? Good for you. Don't like the V20? Don't buy one... What I don't get is how this thread has five pages of responses. I'll make this the 114th post. :-)

Is anything we purchase actually "worth it"??

A M3 sedan goes for over $100k fully optioned when a Honda Civic for a quarter of the price can get you to Point A to Point B just as well.

For the price of a La Perla thong for $200 one can purchase dozens and dozens of undies from Target?

A V20 for $900 I think falls into this same bucket of a M3 and La Perla underwear imho.

There's consumers who will stomach the price and make the purchase and there's others who will not. It's that consumer's choice how and what to buy with their hard earned money.

I don't understand why there's a question of whether or not the V20 is worth it since it's obvious that it is...... since many folks had did indeed purchase it.

I.... myself feel it is but then again I feel the same way about my M3 and La Perla items.

When you start watching Shark Tank and find out what it cost to make an item meanwhile you are being charged 20 x the price whether it's because of so called over head or not. Nothing is the right value in this world. Value is subjective to what the person is ready to invest in the item. Value and worth are both "feelings" to the majority of us and may I dare say all of us, it's definitely not "reasoning".
Meanwhile, if I could I would pick up that Iphone Falcon and stare at it, probably try to chew on it too....before I would sell it back on Ebay. That phone is too finger licking good. And I don't even do Iphones....lol.

Elaine, Elaine, Elaine. The M3 (and now M4) is one of the few cars that may actually be worth its price. Power, styling, refinement. Some might even say it's a bargain. A girl's best friend.

This is a help and DISCUSSION forum, the "discussion" part in the forum description might explain the 5 pages of discussion in this thread.

For now, I'm going to settle for a '17 Subaru WRX STi (lip, no silly wing). A little raw but I'll enjoy it.
