Just received this email from VZN

"Dear Valued Customer,

Thank you for contacting Verizon Wireless. We do apologize for any inconvenience. Due to the high demand on this device all orders were shipped out with standard shipping. We do see the system did charge you the overnight shipping fee, please contact us at 1-800-711-7773 (866-338-7390) Monday-Friday 8am-9pm or Saturday 8am-5pm EST with your credit card information to have a credit issued for this charge. Once an order has been completed we do not store card information for your security.

Thank you for using Verizon Wireless products and services. We appreciate your business.

Yeah, I know I'm a moron for not using the free overnight coupon, I was too excited to pre-order and forgot about it. But at least I'll get my money back anyway. Just wish I had my phone already :)

I just chose the free shipping option because the promotional stuff said if you ordered before 4/28 you were guaranteed to get it on 4/29.

I paid for overnight shipping, but when I tracked my order on FedEx, I saw that they were using Standard shipping. I called Vz and they credited my account for the overnight charge. The bummer is, FedEx is holding onto my Incredible at the local depot, stating "not scheduled for Delivery today." So close...but so far away. I have to wait another day now.

That's the same thing I did...let's hope it stays true and I get it on the 29th.

Did anyone else have theirs sent to their work, but realize that 2-day shipping could come after 5? Wonder what FedEx does if they attempt delivery to a business and nobody's in the mailroom to sign for it? VZW evidently didn't think about that before making this capricious switch.

(Answer: I just called FedEx to see if I could pick it up at the depot first instead - they told me they've got to make one delivery attempt at the business first, then I can come to the depot afterwards. I set up email alerts on Fedex.com so that as soon as they try and fail, I'm running over to FedEx to catch it.)

Typically, even with 2-day shipping, it'll be on the same truck as your regular FedEx deliveries to the business (IOW not after 5...that's typically when they deliver to residences). I see it happen with my orders from different vendors all the time.
