for those with batt issues after upgrade

I'm having weird battery life. dead after 5 hours of only sending 30 txt messages, visiting a few sites.

I've already read on the media hub and drm, but also want to do a factory reset on my phone. Question is, when do i do this? when the battery is full? empty? half dead? doesn't matter?

DRM restarted itself after a phone reboot. does this mean we have to kill drm each time?

Thanks!
B

I'm out of the country now, so I can't test some of this out on my phone. But I have a question about "toggling" airplane mode. What exactly does that mean? Are you guys saying I should have the phone on airplane mode every now and then? Or just switch it on, then off at a certain point? And if so, when? Sorry for the dumb questions, but I'm confused.

Thanks in advance!

I just followed your instructions. I like this phone as much as I liked the EVO. Battery life was a huge issue. Thought about going to Verizon because the EVO and Epic are the only real options on Sprint. I am excited about my Epic once again. Thanks for the tip.

I went into running services and i see it running the DMR but i see no option to kill or shut off.
To turn it off, tap the running application and a window will pop up with stop and cancel. Tap the stop and that will turn off the running application.

Slight correction ;) -- For running applications this is correct, but for running services you just tap the service to stop them.

This is a great find, talked to my Service Tech today, he had no idea or clue, what a surprise. He just said hard reset or trade it in. I really don't want to do that because the next one might just do the same thing.

So I am trying all of this. Airplane toggle didn't help, but I did shut down drm as well as Sprint Hotspot. My Wifi showed on when checking Spare Parts, as above it wasn't, so since this is the closest thing, I shut it down and will check
battery later today.

My point, see if this is also running. I didn't have Media Hub but had other, so who know what clicked what.

And big thanks for everyone pitching in to help, that is what these forums should be about - solutions, not complaints.

I stopped it from running, and I can definitely tell the difference. Its been almost an hour or so, of texting, and web browsing, and hot spot, and my battery hasnt moved at all. Thanx!!

Mine is having a fantastic day today too. 11 hours, 5 minutes unplugged and still at 74%. This is more like it.

The more posts I read of everyone trying out the tip from flynlow, the more depressed I get seeing the battery level on my phone keep dropping! I tried just about everything mentioned in this thread short of a factory reset or exchanging the phone. I may just try a factory reset 1st and then exchange it if that fails. Of course, I only have one day left for 30-day exchange policy. CRAP!!!
