I have searched the other threads but didn't find anything that has worked so far. When I try to change my notification settings it vibrates and then gives me a warning that says "process.com.android.settings has stopped. Please try again." And then I have to force close. I have tried over and over and it still wants me to force close.

I have reset the phone, both with the power button and a battery pull.

I deleted the advanced task killer that I had and also deleted an app called brilliant quotes.

I deleted the mp3 ringtones on my SD card.

I have the following 3rd party apps: firefox, facebook, dictionary.com, sound hound, tweet caster, weather bug, paper toss, buzzbox, wallet, mlb at bat lite, gas buddy, aCCleaner Free, amazon app store, flashlite, 3g watchdog, color note, balance my checkbook, and where's my droid.

Can someone please give me an idea of what I should do next? This has been happening since last night...

The only advice I have is to go to settings/privacy/factory reset. You'll end up having to redownload your apps, and if you have contacts or calendar not symced to gmail you'll want to back those up. Not sure if the factory reset will do anything to the sd so it wont hurt to have a backup of that.
When you start fresh with apps, id leave out the task killer.
i also have mlb lite, flashlight, color note, amazon and weather bug so I doubt its any of those.

Will doing this cause me to have to take the phone back to uscellular to reprogram my number and such?

I just found a solution to my issue "Accidentally" I went into my MP3 Ringtones I bluetoothed to my mes and when I selected each file and added it now my phone works fine. Could Android 2.2 froyo have a bug? I think yes, This needs fixed or give me Eclair back!!!!!!

To answer this question, no. You would have had to setup your gmail account and any social network accounts.

As far as the fix you found, thats interesting. All my ringtones are on my computer so I just copied them to my sd card.
