Force custom APN - Motorola Xoom 4.1.2 Rooted

Anyone know how to force a custom APN?

There is no option under Mobile Network for setting an APN.

Ive tried some of the APN apps from the Play store, nothing worked.

I have also tried modifying the APN.xml file in /system/etc with no luck. Because I do not know how to get the Xoom to jump onto the APN that I added.

Which sim is in it now?

I have a brand new 4G sim from Verizon in there. It is activated, but I need to put in my own custom APN.

Are you trying to use it on Verizon? Is it a Verizon xoom?

Re: Force custom APN - Motorola Xoom 4.1.2 Rooted

If it is a Verizon xoom running on Verizon then Verizon doesn't allow you to change apn settings... With the Verizon sim inside.

Re: Force custom APN - Motorola Xoom 4.1.2 Rooted

The APN has to be changed in order to get on Verizon. Its hard to explain becasue its not being used for typical "person" use. Its a custom business account that requires a custom use APN.

I need to figure this out, so either I ditch the xoom tablet for something else that allows a custom APN right out of the box or start hacking the crap out of it. :)
