Force the 4.3 OTA

Still no update for me. I thought that one of the benefits of having a Nexus device is receiving updates faster. 5 days now.

Agreed. Google needs to find a better way.

You will loose ROOT if you do this update - should only do this on a stock N7

I've been trying to get the 4.3 OTA since it appeared in the ASOP. I was finally able to "force" the OTA by following these simple instructions:

1. Go to Settings > Apps > All Apps

2. Find the Google Services Framework

3. Force Stop the app and then clear the data.

4. Go to Settings > About Tablet > System Update

5. The date should now show 12/31/1969 or something like that from 1969.

6. Check for the update.

I had to do this step 3 times, but it finally worked.

Gee, when i reset it i got 1/1/1970. And it doesn't work at all! Tried 5 times.

Good luck!

EXCELLENT! Apologies for the shouting but after 4 tries at step 3 it worked a ruddy treat. Also thank you to SKL for directing me here. :D

Got it updated to 4.3 by stopping the framework services. 4 times, and then it appeared.

I had to delete and re-add google account, not because of the play store issue, but because the notifications were broken. I also couldn?t get notification to Hangouts app on Android, and need to delete the App Data only to get the notifications back up. Im assuming that every app has to do the same thing to make appear the notifications? Clear App data?

same problem with me. tried like 20 times no luck. turned it off and back on still no luck. does it make a difference if my nexus is on verizon?

plz help. i did it about 15 times with no luck, then restarted and tried 5 times no luck. im following the instructions exactly.

If you have a Verizon galaxy Nexus then your wasting your time. There's no update for you.
