Forgot fix for launcher lag

I recently upgraded from .596 to .602. I was having long redraw times (5 to 15 seconds) when going back to the home screen. I followed a tip where I edited a text file in the system directory and it seemed to really help. When I went to .602 I had to do a complete wipe. Now the redraw lag is back. I can't seem to remember what I did to fix it. Is anyone familiar with a fix that involves editing a text file in the systems (or something like that) directory?
