formatting data on start up

I have recently switched to cyanogenmod-7.2.0-rc1-lgvm670-bobzhome-20120520 and it works great except every time i turn the phone off and back on the android system recovery clears all the data and i lose all my settings. how can i stop the recovery from starting at boot

did you do a factory reset on stock?
