How are you feeling about your choice of phone post Pre?

Replaced my lovely Verizon Pre Plus with my Evo.

I still think WebOS beats the pants out of Android. WebOS makes Android multitasking look like a joke.

Tapatalk herp derp lulz.

Agreed. Miss being able to swipe forward as well as backward too. I'll be curious to see what wp8 has to offer

I can honestly say I don't miss my Pre

No regrets

Here's the thing, technology is only getting better. Android ICS and Jellybean is infinitely better than Android Eclair when the Palm Pre was released. Everything now is faster, smoother, larger, and in HD. Would I like better multi-tasking like the Pre? Sure. But even that has been improved and is close to the webOS card implementation.

As a technophile who has no allegiance to any mobile platform I like all the improvements I've seen in the mobile space over the last 2 years on Android and also on Windows Phone.

I still miss my TouchStones (had them in cars and house ) when I went to the Evo 4G but other then that don't miss it that much . Still have it as a backup , well behind the OG Evo but won't get rid of it

Don't get me wrong , I love this phone. Was just curious how others felt. Webos on this hardware would be perfect. But I'm happy with the things I'm seeing with Android

I do miss using my Pre, Pre2, and Pre3, although I still use my TouchPad. webOS was awesome, but I got frustrated with the lack of updates and bug fixes. I miss cards and gestures, and the ease they brought to multitasking.

However, I love my One S, and after years of disparaging Android I have to say that ICS has made it a great OS. I am looking

Oops. To finish:

I am looking forward to Jellybean goodness. Yes, I would love to run an updated version of webOS on this HW, but I'm happy with the choice I made. Besides, when I get nostalgic I can always swap my sim into one of my Pre3s. :-D

If the Pre3 was easily found in Canada, I'd have one. Since my Pre 1 I've had a Galaxy S Vibrant, Desire Z, iPhone 4 and SGS 3, and I love them all (some more than others, the only phones I won't sell are my iPhone and sgs3) but when I got my hands on an acquaintances Pre 3, the hardware was GORGEOUS.

I still have my Touchpad. But no OS will ever come close to WebOS for me. It's still what I compare all others to and they still look less polished compared to it.

I left my palm pre for the original evo when that came out and never regretted one min. I have had all 3 EVO's now and have been happy with all of them, each one getting better. I really feel bad for the people over on other forum who continue to believe that android has no multitasking and that they will have new hardware soon. I gave up that wait over 2 years ago. Some who said everyday that "I will give palm 6 more months" are still saying the same thing 2 years later.

I agree, the ONLY thing i miss about my Pre is the Touchstone.

I certainly don't miss the endless promises of updates and new phones that always went unfulfilled. Nor do I miss all the apologists on P|C saying that Palm and HP need time.

I honestly hope Open webOS does something, but I don't think I will ever be going back.

All 3 EVO's? I think you're missing a couple there.

Really? Help me out then. There was the original evo, then the evo 3d and now the lte,,,, oh wait your talking about the lower end phones. Sorry, I was talking about the big 3. EVO's 3 flagship phones.

Boy is THAT a delayed question :) I left the Palm Pre to go to the Evo 4G. Then a year later upgraded to the Evo 3D. Then a year later upgraded to the Evo LTE.

So which phone and with with version of Android are you wanting us to compare to the now fairly ancient Palm Pre (and which Pre? Sprint only had one)?

I *loved* the Palm Pre compared to my previous Palm smartphones. But the limitations of the slow CPU, small screen, and lack of memory severely limited what could be done with it. Sprint never went any further with Palm, and it was obvious there would be no upgrade- leaving us all with only Android as an upgrade path. That was exactly the time the Evo came onto the scene and LOTS of us switched. The Evo hardware was just a dream come true compared to the Pre. Android took some getting used to, and I missed the task switching "cards" system horribly. But no looking back.

Agreed. There have been only 3 "real" Evo's. The Slide was not really an Evo, and the Design is just a slight mod.

Still have and love my fire sale Touchpad. My Sprint Pre had a keyboard that stopped working, so I got the EVOLTE on launch day (after the delay). I miss Preware, and Homebrew and overclocking with Govnah and all my programs dating back to my originial Handspring Visor Deluxe. Sure, I could pay $50 for styletap and run them on Android, but I have slowly converted most things to Android. I love on{x} on the EVOLTE. So cool to have my phone page my wife when I leave either of my two offices in case I need to get something on the way home or so the kids will know when we will be eating dinner.

webOS had superb multitasking, but it has a lack of apps, poor hardware and was not cool since my Treo 700p.

Android can still improve, and I do worry about all the tracking of my personal information, but I don't see open webOS ever making it on anything other than an HP printer or toaster.

Multitasking on the EVOLTE is 15% better after the last sense 4.1 update, but not quite there. But the screen, video, and camera on the EVOLTE are fantastic. So is the battery life. Just cannot wait for LTE to come to central Virginia, sometime in the next year.
