[Forum Game] New Thunderbolt goodie? UPDATE: One of us is right!

Huh? A phone is not the same as a tablet. I don't understand why people are making such a huge deal about the iPad 2 causing things to be pushed back. To me it seems like Apple is the one that is rushing to get the iPad 2 out because so many competitors are coming with the goods.

Verizon knew about the March 11th date for the iPad 2. The iPad 2 will not move in the kind of numbers that an iPhone follow on would... or a significant upgrade.

What are iPad 2 users getting? Faster processor, new cases, and cameras? It'll sell a bunch because of brand loyalty but it won't be a massive event.

If I remember correctly, didn't the xoom poke fun at the ipad in a commercial? Paybacks a *****, especially when your dealing with the monster that apple has become!
Thats a pretty unfair comparison for the number of honeycomb apps. It was just launched! Plus apple ios covers their phones, ipad and laptops. Like comparing apples and oranges.

Common people don't read into stuff like that in depth and will believe how much better iPad is overall. Apple markets to the common consumer.

So a quick recap:

iPad 2 is pretty.

Nothing new about the Thunderbolt from our "source." It may or may not get an announcement today or tomorrow, and may or may not be released this week or next week. It may or may not have a dual-core chip (ha), may or may not have an extended battery, and may or may not be activated with Gingerbread. It may or may not feature the OnLive gaming service, and it may or may not cause unicorns to fly out from your arse.

...that about sum it up?

Sounds about right.

Now that is how you announce a new product!! Verizon and HTC needs to take notes! That is why Apple is so successful, they know how to do a presentation and they deliver on their products. They always make good products, with good prices and ON TIME!! No delays. OK, back to the thunderbolt quiz game thing!

I feel like I'm repeating myself, but the Thunderbolt is different. We aren't just talking about a refreshed phone or a refreshed tablet. The iPad 2 still has 3G antennas or strictly wifi.

LTE makes the Thunderbolt a whole new ballgame for Verizon and HTC. Things need to be almost flawless before they release it or before they even announce a release date. Apple in all actuality is a year behind because they aren't implementing LTE in the iPad 2 or even the iPhone 5. It's easy to come out with something on time when there isn't a huge change.
