Found my battery sweet spot! Finally!

So, a quick question: My workplace does not have wifi, but other suites in the building do. I have been turning Wifi off during the day because my phone is constantly finding networks that I do not have access to. In this situation, is it better to turn it off?

Thanks, and sorry for such a basic question.

Silly as it may sound, it's not a big deal to leave it on. It's not gonna kill your battery. If your not actively connected to wifi it's just detecting the networks, negligible drainage, not actively connected. Battery only starts to be used to any great degree if it's actually using the wifi network for data.

You guys are all doing it wrong. You're supposed to use 4G and burn through as much data as possible on Verizon's network. I thought we had this covered.

LOL, yeah but the downside may be that if those of us fortunuate enough to be on unlimited plans do that. We may find ourselves "unfortunate" on tiered plans when the time comes to re-up in the future. I'm gonna enjoy it while it lasts, though. If I recall, they made it a point, when tiered was instated, that grandfathered plans are not guaranteed for future dates and times.

Ah, I didn't know! Thank you!:D

On stock settings I think wifi scans on an interval of once ever 60 seconds, and all it does is identify available wireless networks.
