FoxFi on VZW 4.3

Hi,
Since Verizon recently pushed 4.3 out to GS3 users, all mobile hotspot apps quit working (for those with unlimited data) with the exception of FoxFi. However FoxFi now requires a VPN Certificate to be installed for the hotspot feature to work.

Does anyone know what this certificate is actually doing? By installing/using it am I giving access to my phone to FoxFi or the ability to view my network traffic? I understand what a VPN is/does as I use them frequently...but as it relates to my phone and this app, I'm not sure.

why dont you simply host it from your phone. Unlimited data and no app required
