FPS or Face unlock failure

I have noticed a quirk with my Mate 20 pro for both biometrics which is that if they fail once then they fail continuously until I log in another way.

It happens mostly with the FPS, it fails the first time and then will not work at all until after I have unlocked via face ID or pin or a use a different finger. I have never for example had the FPS fail the first time and then work on a subsequent attempt.

Anybody else experienced this?

Mine is working great... Do u have any screen protector installed?

No screen protectors. Seems more reliable with a finger vs. a thumb but I'd say my success rate is no better than 50%

Face recognition is so good and fast that I never have to use fingerprint unless an app wants it to set a password. Thumb print is virtually useless but pointer and middle finger work without fail.
I still wish we could turn off the mandatory pin code input which is requested about every 3 or 4 days.

It stops working after your first try ? That's weird. Mine works even if it fails once. Or face ID kicks in and unlocks it right away

I have a similar issue where i need to swipe to unlock after using fingerprint... Wasnt like this before.

It either works first time or not at all.

Face unlock is much better but not as reliable as it is on say an iPhone. Does not work every time and there is often a slight delay, I suspect it is affected by some light conditions.
