Free headphones can be ordered now (Update: Approvals Coming In Now)

Quick mini review. I think these are quite nice. They should improve with some burn in time. I don't think they lack bass, but as a former studio producer i like tight punchy bass and hate booming bass like you get with beats or out of any car playing hip hop or rap. It's just a preference thing (maybe age related). I can also add that as an owner of other buds in this price range and higher that proper tips are how you ensure getting all of the available bass. These do not come with enough tips to fit a wide enough user base. You must have a fit that seals, almost suction like. I think a lot of youngest people may still feel they lack bass, especially those that like Beats. I would put these right on par with my Monster Earth, Wind and Fire buds. The price point was similar unless you got the Monsters in close out on Amazon ($50). The Monsters were designed for the horns and Jazzy tones of the band Earth Wind and Fire.. Bass wise they are quite similar and without tight tips the Monsters sounded almost harsh. Once got the fit, wow. Classical and jazz sounded amazing and classic rock cranked. The B&Os are very similar, though the B&Os are not as breathy with horns or strings. I think they are a little better at more varieties of rock than the Monsters. One plus with Monsters was that they came with about 15 sets of tips. It may be too early for full reviews until about 24 to 48 hours of burn in time.

Another note. They just plugged in as high Z again. Lol. No clue what is going on there. 😂

Regarding the bass response, I haven't really used many buds before, and none of the Beats stuff, so I don't have a ton to go on. I also listen to some stuff that has some very very low frequency bass that I know would be hard for most buds to reproduce (namely EDM, which I think goes lower than typical rap/hip-hop). The bass was clear, just nowhere near as loud as the rest. To hear it, the mids and highs were almost unbearably loud.

I'm not looking for overpowering bass, just more balanced.

I should have added I am using Poweramp Pro Alpha. It seems to below everything else out of the water for those of us who can use it. So I can easily eq the highs. I didn't have that issue but i have no idea what others have trained their ears to hear. It is just my opinions for my preferences. Try some classical or jazz even if you do not like it..

I read reviews on the H3 and all basically said the bass is lacking.

Anyone know how far into the #s they are with shipping them out? Input on the 1st, confirmed on the 11th, no shipping yet, #26480

Just received my shipping notification from LG with tracking number. I was #22969. No info available on the DHL website yet though. It says to allow 24 - 48 hours for the information to display.

Not sure where you read but my trade magazines and audiophile sites all say basically what i did. I agree that a lot of people with these phones will feel that way though. I think more audiophiles may jump in but not yet. The problem lies in the fact that it is hard to make earbuds appeal to a wide range of users based on the size of the driver's. Then everyone has different ears. I have had people hate my $800 studio reference cans and prefer my cheap Sony set that i use for live work. They are not even close but to each their own. It all comes down to what you want. I can point people to some less than $30 buds that will blow people's minds though. They are not quite in the range of B&O but they have more bass and plenty of high sparkle for phone users.

The buds that I mention above under $30 that are amazing for the price are these

Symphonized NRG 3.0 Premium Wood In-ear Noise-isolating Headphones|Earbuds|Earphones with Mic & Volume Control (Powder Blue & Hazy Gray) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01D3QZA8...ag=hawk-future-20&ascsubtag=UUacUvbUpU5568161

Also the Version 2 of those are great. I have 3 sets.. Closest to true audiophile without spending big bucks. I use them for the gym and activities. Bass is stronger than the H3

Wth they jumped over me :(

Most of my listening is through apps without EQ functions (YouTube, Pandora, podcasts, and Audible). Would by nice if I could have a system wide EQ adjustment.

While I often like the sound of EQ adjustments, for some silly silly reason I feel guilty about using EQ, like I'm cheating or something. I know that's crazy but I have this thing in the back of my girl-brain telling me I'm supposed to be enjoying the 'purest' sound possible and that EQ add some level of distortion or something. I doubt this is true as the effect is done digitally nowadays as opposed to the old analog EQs of days past.

It's audiophile silliness for sure.

My old AKG Q701s lack some bottom-end oomph and definitely sound more fun with some EQ added but instead of applying just enough EQ to get me there I bought AKG K712s since they were known to improve the bottom end. Still shake my head at that sometimes.

I need to get past my childish avoidance of the EQ. Not all snobbish audiophile publications are correct!

Mine finally shipped I was number 15335 or something like that, my coworker is waiting for them as much as I am, because he will be buying them, I made some extra cash out of my note 7 promotions, and now Lg is putting some loot in my pocket :)

If I'm recording something like when I've dabbled in DJ'ing, I'll record a flat EQ setting because actual listening environments will be different and warrant specific EQ's. I learned that lesson when I recorded how I liked the sound in the headphones, only to discover it sounded like junk with way too much bass in my car.

For instance, in car audio, sound waves can cancel each other out and it's common to use both EQ and even time alignment to center the sound stage on the drivers seat. Going back to my DJ mixes issue, even with a flat EQ and reasonable volume, the bass was almost to the point of distortion because I over drove it in the recording itself.

Don't think of EQ's as cheating, but rather correcting for your listening environment. Staying specific to headphones, if they don't sound true to the recording, then no problem with correcting the sound.

On my way to the gym open my door and these guys are waiting for my at my feet......Perfect timing....Nice 2 hour test coming up

After looking high and low trying to find out the actual impedance on these headphones, I was only able to find it referenced on one web site and it said they were only 18 ohms.

I'm hanging here in Starbucks listening to Pandora using my BO ear buds and WOW is all I can say?!?

So clear and the tunes are much, much more enjoyable!!

It's a great freebie!!!

I have 2 sets of the H3s (snagged my wife's). These are the first set of headphone I have connected to the V20. My question is, is it the LG with the poor port or are these free $150 headphones faulty at the input jack. Both pairs I have to fiddle with at the port to get quality even sound through the headphones, and a slight bump causes crackling (both pairs). I literally had to pull hard to one side on the input jack to tune to non static sound. People were paying $150 for these? If the headphones are at fault, they are most definitely a non mobile set of headphoness. Sitting on the couch they sound great.

I suppose you can't complain about free, but then again if my friend said "hey you want some headphones I don't want, you just have to fiddle with the cord" I would decline the offer LOL.

Sound like you've got some experience with earbuds. I've only used ones that come with phones, until the V20. Will I notice a difference between these b&o ones vs in the 400-500 range? I'm looking at the westone w30/w40 for example. I don't know if sounds from earbuds translate to home speakers, but I like the sound signature of paradigm studio reference 20 v5 for example, neutral with bit forward highs. I do like my bass too, but controlled and defined.

Good lord, really? Wow, not what I was expecting.
