free memory question

I use Advanced Task Manager, after i restart my phone it usually says that i have about 495 of free memory. By the end of the day it drops down to less then 300. Is there a specific reason why this is happening? I notice the lag when im texting

Yea that part tends to drop lower the more apps you start up, for example after a nice bit of time browsing with my Dolphin web browser I notice sometimes a 40mb or so drop with that app alone. You can check out which apps are doing the most by dragging down the notification bar and tab over to 'Quick Settings' tab and select the last option 'Total Memory' & there you'll see the work hogs (im sure there's another way to get to it or even an app or widget as well that can get to this info too)

I kill all the apps that I can, but still i cant manage to get it pass the 300 mark. The only solution that works is to restart the phone

Are you ending them from using the method I mentioned above? because your phone is going to take up some resources too that you cant see. that's just the way it is. If your SMS is lagging a little you may want to check and make sure you dont have a lot of 1K+ message strands too. Are you using the stock SMS or another like I use Go SMS.

But yea of your 1K total memory onboard, all of it is not usable by you. Sprint installs a lot of Bloatware like Blockbuster,Nascar,SpiderMan etc and other required applications necessary to run your device.

Yeah I am. I kinda figured that out, but oh well. I use the stock sms. I just restart and problem solved. Thanx for the help

You realize that that's free memory, right? Ready for use? Unless it gets near zero I don't see what the issue is.

I use android assistant, auto memory manager,and the v6 super charger script. I usually have around 425-450 mb of free space. I also removed sense because it uses tons of resources.
