From BB to Incredible (Have issues, need help, advice)

Even though I know the pre-ordered Incredible won't be here until Thursday I still keep checking the order status page just in case they ship it early. My wife thinks I have a problem, and I'm inclined to agree with her!

My wife thought I was nuts due to my reaction of getting the Incredible early. I wanted to run out in the street and yell. She laughed hysterically and called me the worlds biggest nerd. Then I asked her what she felt when her new furniture was delivered and she said, oh, ok. The Incredible is way better than furniture though.

I haven't felt like this since I was a kid...and my Storm has been kinda OK...

Well, I cannot order my Incredible until Thursday, because CS offered me an early upgrade for my S2 problems. But, CS cannot preorder this phone, so I have to wait for it to be released. Weird, but okay. So I am sitting here reading so jealous of you guys, until the 29th when I can finally order it.

I did just order the high gloss silicone case for it from big red, lmao. It will be here tomorrow!

Just got done transferring all of my Storm1 contacts to Google via Google Sync app. Now I need to figure out how to get all the information from my Password Keeper to the Incredible when it arrives. Any suggestions?

Ok, I've read thru "most" of the FAQs and specs and I still am not seeing anything about the accelerometer. Is it as sensitive/ responsive as Storm or iPhone? What differences?

Ask CS is they can notate the account so you can walk into a VZW store and pick it up. They will do it and it will work for you 95% of the time...

I am on a Storm 9530 right now as well. I've been wary of touch screen only phones, and the reason I got the storm is for the hybrid touch/press screen. I love it, and am afraid to move away from it. I'm hoping that the Storm 3 is announced at WES this week, and I'll look forward to that. However, if playing with one doesn't astound me, it's goodbye Blackberry, helloooooo Android. At the very least, I can do Verizon's "Try it for 30 days" thing when I get my upgrade. Unfortunately, my upgrade date isn't until October. And there's no way I can afford full retail. *facepalm* Hoping I win an Incredible here lol. I'm willing to brave a touchscreen only phone if it's as fast and well...Incredible as the Incredible is shaping up to be. Anyone here switch from a Storm to Droid and have no problems with a non-clicky screen?

so by doing this with google sync?.when my incredible comes all i have to is plug it in and it wil sync contacts?

Of all my s1 complaints surepress is not one of them. Once I got used to it I was able to flow with out any problems...however in the same regard I hate handing some one my phone and having to explain how to use the surepress feature. I am wary of a full touch screen but the S2 does not have any buttons and I have not heard any complaints about it so I am willing to go Incredible...plus I have not seen any negative reviews of the screen not reacting right, like I have with the n1

In theory, yeah, since Android uses Google Contacts to sync the phone's contact list...

I feel that with threaded messaging I will not miss bbm. I really don't need a status and the icons are not that important....plus gaining a solid os and a great browser will more than make up for lack of push email support and no bbm.

Are you saying Android has threaded messaging? Sweet! I was afraid I would lose that.

You might want to back it up through the Desktop Manager first just in case something goes awry. I doubt you'll have any problems, but the last thing you want to do is mess up your contacts. Reminds me years ago when I said "Sure, let itunes organize my music," I spent the next few hours re-organizing my music back to the way it was.

Consider that the Storm 1 and 2 are the only phones in the world with the clickable touchscreen. You're actually the exception. Also consider that every iPhone/Droid user out there is using a standard touchscreen keyboard. Will you have an adjustment period filled with typos and backspacing? Sure! But didn't you when you got the Storm? The human brain is well-equipped for these things. If losing the clickable touchscreen is your biggest worry, you're in a phenomenal position.

There seem to be a lot of Storm owners on this thread who, like me, are making the switch to the Incredible. I would love to see an informal survey posted on AC on how many Storm owners are switching. That would be interesting!

Another side question, what type of junk mail filters does android have built into it? On my BB, I use a app called MailMinder to build rules to make certain mail not do notifications or to delete junk mail immediately.

Is their something built into android OS to do this or is their an equivalent application I can download from the android store?

If you have gmail, they have some of the best junk mail filtering that I have experienced.

One question I have that has not been confidently addressed yet is whether my MicroUSB accessories for my Storm will work on the Droid Incredible I've pre-ordered. If possible, I'd like to avoid replacing my vehicle charger, and I'd like to use the extra USB cables and wall chargers that I already own here at the office.

I was browsing Incredible accessories on VZW's web site and noticed that the chargers were compatible with Storms 1 & 2. That implies that your current Storm chargers are compatible with the Incredible. I'm going to give it a try.
