From BB to Incredible (Have issues, need help, advice)

FML, this sucks! I don't want to have to wait for a new phone after waiting so long for this but I want a phone that works properly. Off to the store

Do they send replacement on devices still covered under manufacturers warranty? I don't think they do.

I agree. I don't think VZW would. I'm just giving him a way to double-check & make sure the new phone isn't a refurb. hehehe

Well the guys at the Verizon store couldn't figure out what was wrong but recognized that there is definitely a problem. Their "national tech guy" or whoever they called couldn't figure it out either. They came to the conclusion that it's probably a problem with HTC's software and they gave some 800 number for HTC to call. They were reluctant to order another phone until they find out what is up with this one.

ETA: IDK what happened by it appears to work now. Plugged in the phone and was able to access the file folders, HTC sync and everything on the SD card. Looks like I'm ready to start playing.

Well glad to see your problem is fixed, would like to know exactly why it just started working again though lol.

If you get a replacement Inc, check the phone's refurb status:

##778 > View Mode > Display

IMHO, I don't think VZ should be sending you a refurb. So, you ought to see <Not available> under "Refurbishment status" & "Refurbishment Date"

Verizon just overnighted me a DI as a replacement unit for my storm. It came in the traditional "Certified Like New" box, along with an packaged extended battery, a packaged case and a packaged "generic Verizon" power adapter. The CS rep said she was "putting together a kit" for me. She also told me there was no way the phone was a referb, as the phone was to new of an item to have a stock of referbs at this time.

Thanks to the info above, I was able to verify that it was not a referb, both refurbishment status and refurbishment Date are <not available> on my phone.

Glad to be here guys, thanks for the help already!

It's funny you should say that because I did exactly that lol. I may sneak over there sometime today and look inside the Storm forum and see what the new issue is.....lol.

That is why I posted it, I did that yesterday and you know what I found? New members asking about the same crap that has been ask a million times. Don't people use the search button? Or do pages expire after a year? I remember people getting flamed for not using the search, oh wait those guys are probably here now. mb:p

Yeah indeed ;) Most of the 'old timers' are still over there, but a lot of people moved along or are now running both BB and Android phones.

I am also migrating from a BB, and I really liked that you can set an alarm on the BB, turn off the phone, and it will wake up at alarm time. Is there an app that does that on the Incredible?

Yeah, also interested in a simple app that does this. One of the few things I miss about my BB.

My Dinc should be here early next month coming over from BB aswell. Looks like I am going to have to get a gmail acct, what do you guys mean by "push"email? I have msn now.

Everyone,
Considering moving to incredible from a storm 1. Is there a reliable program to sync outlook (contacts, calendar, tasks, notes) to the phone? This was standard and free through the BB desktop. It looks like this might be possible with companionlink only. Has anyone used this? I see gsync, missing sync and android sync all have some of these capabilities but not all of them (tasks is usually left off). Thanks this is the only thing holding me back.

I have moved from a Storm to Droid Incredible and I am really liking this phone. Battery life is not what I would expect, but the functionality is much better. I am getting used to having to look at mail to get some updates, but that is not to bad.

All you have to do is download google sync for your blackberry, sync with gmail acct. and when you get your droid when you activate the google part of your phone(gmail, sync), it will do the phone book if you sync'd your contacts to gmail.:D Best thing I did was give up on blackberry.

I came from the Storm 1 also, the Inc does not nativity support the syncing the tasks, and notes. It was not a deal breaker for me, and have yet to try any 3rd party software. Depending how many tasks you have, you can cut and paste them into Google tasks, and access them from your phone that way? I have a shortcut on one of my home screens, not as good as outlook, but better then nothing.

Having made the switch to the DINC from the Storm 1 and Storm 2 there are many differences between the 2 phones like the task synch, calendar differences, E-Mail push stuff etc. The biggest change to me was the fact that it works. As opposed to the BB where it worked sometimes. No battery pulls is a great thing LOL

My Incredible will be arriving tomorrow....I've broken up with Blackberry after a 4 year relationship.

Is there anything on this website like Blackberry 101 on Crackberry.com? That helped me a ton when I first got a BB and I can't seem to find anything similar on this site. Something that just lays out all the basics you need to know?
